بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
44:1حمٓ
44:1HA MIM. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:2وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
44:2The perspicuous Book is witness - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:3إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
44:3(That) We sent it down one night of blessing -- so that We could warn -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:4فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
44:4On which all affairs are sorted out and decided - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:5أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
44:5As commands from Us. It is indeed We who send (messengers), - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:6رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
44:6A mercy from your Lord. Verily He is all-hearing and all-knowing, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:7رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
44:7The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you really do believe. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:8لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
44:8There is no god other than He, who gives you life and death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:9بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
44:9Yet they are lost in doubt and play. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:10فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:10So watch for the day when the sky begins to emit clear smoke, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:11يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
44:11Which would envelope mankind. That would be a grievous affliction. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:12رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
44:12"O Lord, take away this torment from us," (they will pray); "we have come to believe." - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:13أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
44:13How can a warning benefit them? The Apostle who explained all things clearly had come to them, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:14ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
44:14But they turned away from him, and said: "He is well-instructed, (but) possessed." - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:15إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
44:15If We remove the torment a little, you revert back (to misdeeds). - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:16يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
44:16The day that We shall seize them with a grievous hold, We will indeed castigate them. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:17۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
44:17We had tried the people of Pharaoh before them. A respected prophet had come to them (saying): - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:18أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
44:18"Deliver the creatures of God to me. I am the trusted messenger sent to you. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:19وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:19Do not think yourselves to be above God: I have come to you with clear authority. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:20وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
44:20I have taken refuge in my Lord and your Lord against your stoning me to death. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:21وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
44:21If you do not believe in me, leave me alone." - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:22فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
44:22Then he called to his Lord: "These are a sinful people." - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:23فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
44:23"Journey by night with My devotees," (it was said); "you will certainly be pursued. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:24وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
44:24(Cross and) leave the sea undisturbed. The (pursuing) hosts will surely be drowned," - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:25كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:25How many gardens and fountains did they leave behind, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:26وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
44:26And fields and stately mansions, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:27وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهِينَ
44:27And the comfort they enjoyed. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:28كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
44:28Thus it was; and We passed them on to another people. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:29فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
44:29Neither did the heavens weep for them, nor the earth, nor were they granted respite. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:30وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
44:30So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:31مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
44:31They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:32وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
44:32And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:33وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
44:33And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:34إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
44:34Even then they say: - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:35إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
44:35"There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:36فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
44:36So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:37أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
44:37Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:38وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
44:38We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:39مَا خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
44:39We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:40إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
44:40The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:41يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
44:41The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:42إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
44:42Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:43إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
44:43The tree of Zaqqum will indeed be - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:44طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
44:44The food of sinners. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:45كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
44:45It is like pitch. It will fume in the belly - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:46كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:46As does boiling water. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:47خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:47"Seize him and drag him into the depths of Hell," (it will be said), - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:48ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:48"Then pour over his head the torment of scalding water." - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:49ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
44:49"Taste it," (they will be told). "You were indeed the mighty and noble! - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:50إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
44:50This is certainly what you had denied." - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:51إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
44:51Surely those who fear and follow the straight path will be in a place of peace and security - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:52فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:52In the midst of gardens and of springs, - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:53يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
44:53Dressed in brocade and shot silk, facing one another. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:54كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
44:54Just like that. We shall pair them with companions with large black eyes. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:55يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
44:55They will call for every kind of fruit with satisfaction. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:56لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:56There they will not know any death apart from the first death they had died, and will be kept safe from the torment of Hell - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:57فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
44:57By the beneficence of your Lord. This will be the great success. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:58فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
44:58Therefore We have made this (Qur'an) easy in your tongue. They may haply take a warning. - Ahmed Ali (English)
44:59فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
44:59So you wait. They are also waiting. - Ahmed Ali (English)
