بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
50:1قٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ
50:1QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur'an. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:2بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ
50:2They are rather surprised that a warner from among themselves has come to them. So the unbelievers say: "This is astonishing: - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:3أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌ
50:3When we are dead and turned to dust, this returning (to life) is most far-fetched." - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:4قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَـٰبٌ حَفِيظٌۢ
50:4We know what the earth consumes of them, for We have the Book that preserves everything. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:5بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِىٓ أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ
50:5But no! They called the truth a lie when it came to them; so they are in a confused state. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:6أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ
50:6Have they not looked at the sky above them, how We have fashioned and adorned it, and it has no flaw? - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:7وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ
50:7We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers and We made every kind of splendid thing to grow upon it - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:8تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ
50:8As instruction and reminder to every penitent creature. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:9وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبَـٰرَكًا فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَحَبَّ ٱلْحَصِيدِ
50:9And We send down water as a blessing from the sky, and grow gardens with it and the grain for harvest, - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:10وَٱلنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَـٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ
50:10And tall date-palms with their spathes pile on pile - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:11رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخُرُوجُ
50:11As a provision for men, and enlivened a region that was dead. Even thus will be the life after death. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:12كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ
50:12The people of Noah, Ar-Rass and Thamud denied before you, - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:13وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍ
50:13As did the people of 'Ad and Pharaoh and the brethren of Lot, - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:14وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ
50:14And the dwellers of the Wood and people of Tubba'. Each of them denied the apostles. So My threat became a reality. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:15أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ
50:15Were We exhausted by the act of the first creation? And yet they are confused about a new creation. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:16وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ
50:16He created man and surely know what misdoubts arise in their hearts; for We are closer to him than his jugular vein. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:17إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ
50:17When the two (angels) who keep the account, one sitting on the right, one on the left, take it down, - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:18مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ
50:18There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:19وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ
50:19The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:20وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ
50:20And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:21وَجَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآئِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ
50:21Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:22لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ
50:22(And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!" - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:23وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَـٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ
50:23His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:24أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ
50:24"Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told), - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:25مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ
50:25"Every obstructor of good, transgressor, and the sceptic, - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:26ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ
50:26Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:27۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ
50:27His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray." - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:28قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ
50:28"Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:29مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
50:29There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:30يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ
50:30We shall ask Hell that day: "Are you full?" It will answer: "Are there still more?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:31وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ
50:31And Paradise will be brought near, not far from those who took heed for themselves and feared God. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:32هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ
50:32"This is what you had been promised," (will be said) to every penitent who remembered (his duty), - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:33مَّنْ خَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ
50:33Who feared Ar-Rahman in secret, and came with a penitent heart: - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:34ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُلُودِ
50:34"Enter it in peace. This is the day of life abiding." - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:35لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ
50:35Theirs will be whatsoever they wish: And with Us there is more. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:36وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ
50:36How many generations have We destroyed before them who were mightier in power than they. Then they searched throughout the land to see if there was a way of escape. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:37إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ
50:37Surely there is a reminder in this for whosoever has a heart (to feel), or takes heed. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:38وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ
50:38We created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, and no weariness came upon Us. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:39فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ
50:39So you bear with patience what they say, and sing the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun and its setting, - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:40وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَـٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ
50:40And glorify Him for some portion of the night, and additional adorations. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:41وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ
50:41Take heed that the day the crier calls from a place close (to every one), - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:42يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ
50:42The day they actually hear the blast, will be the Day of rising of the dead. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:43إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ
50:43We are the one who give life and death, and to Us will be the destination. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:44يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ
50:44The day the earth will split asunder they will come out hurriedly. This gathering together is easy for Us. - Ahmed Ali (English)
50:45نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ
50:45We are cognisant of what they say; but it is not for you to compel them. So keep on reminding through the Qur'an whoever fears My warning. - Ahmed Ali (English)
