بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
79:1وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا
79:1I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:2وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا
79:2And those who undo the bonds gently, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:3وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا
79:3And those who glide swimmingly, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:4فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
79:4Then outpace the others swiftly - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:5فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
79:5And direct affairs by command, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:6يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
79:6The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:7تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
79:7Followed by the second blast, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:8قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
79:8Hearts will pound loudly on that day, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:9أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ
79:9Eyes be lowered in submission. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:10يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
79:10They say: "Shall we go back to our original state - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:11أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
79:11After having turned to carious bones?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:12قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
79:12They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:13فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
79:13It will only be a single blast, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:14فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
79:14And they will wake up suddenly. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:15هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
79:15Has the story of Moses come to you - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:16إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
79:16When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:17ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
79:17"Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:18فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
79:18And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:19وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
79:19Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:20فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:20So he showed him the greater sign; - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:21فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
79:21But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:22ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
79:22Then he turned away, deliberating, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:23فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
79:23And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:24فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
79:24Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:25فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
79:25So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:26إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
79:26Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:27ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا
79:27Are you more difficult to create or the heavens? He built it, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:28رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
79:28Raised it high, proportioned it, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:29وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:29Gave darkness to its night, and brightness to its day; - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:30وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
79:30And afterwards spread out the earth. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:31أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
79:31He brought out its water and its pastures from it, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:32وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
79:32And stabilized the mountains - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:33مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
79:33As convenience for you and your cattle. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:34فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:34When the great calamity comes, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:35يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
79:35The day when man remembers all that he had done, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:36وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
79:36And Hell made visible to him who can see, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:37فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
79:37Then he who had been rebellious - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:38وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
79:38And who preferred the life of the world, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:39فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:39Will surely have Hell for his abode. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:40وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
79:40But he who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained his self from vain desires, - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:41فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:41Will surely have Paradise for abode. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:42يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
79:42They ask you: "When will the Hour be? When is its time fixed?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:43فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
79:43What do you have to do with explaining it? - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:44إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
79:44The extent of its knowledge goes to your Lord. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:45إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
79:45Your duty is only to warn him who fears it. - Ahmed Ali (English)
79:46كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:46The day they see it, it will seem they had stayed in the world but only an evening or its turning into dawn. - Ahmed Ali (English)
