بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
81:1إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
81:1WHEN THE SUN is folded up, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:2وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ
81:2The stars turn dim and scatter, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:3وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
81:3The mountains made to move, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:4وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
81:4The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:5وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
81:5The wild beasts stampede on the run, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:6وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
81:6When the oceans surge and swell, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:7وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
81:7When souls are reunited (with the bodies) - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:8وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ
81:8And the little girl buried alive is asked - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:9بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ
81:9For what crime she was put to death; - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:10وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
81:10When the ledgers are laid open, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:11وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
81:11The curtain drawn back from the skies, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:12وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
81:12When Hell is set ablaze, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:13وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
81:13And Paradise brought near, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:14عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ
81:14(Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:15فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
81:15So, I call the receding stars to witness, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:16ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
81:16The planets withdrawing into themselves, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:17وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
81:17The closing night, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:18وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
81:18The rising dawn, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:19إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
81:19That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:20ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
81:20Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:21مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
81:21Obeyed and worthy there of trust. - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:22وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ
81:22Your companion is not mad. - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:23وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
81:23He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:24وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
81:24He is not chary of making public what is unknown. - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:25وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
81:25This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:26فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
81:26So whither do you stray? - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:27إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:27This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:28لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
81:28For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, - Ahmed Ali (English)
81:29وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:29Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. - Ahmed Ali (English)
