بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
87:1سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى
87:1GLORIFY THE NAME of your Lord, most high, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:2ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
87:2Who creates and proportions, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:3وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
87:3Who determines and directs, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:4وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ
87:4Who brings out the pastures - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:5فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ
87:5Then reduces them to rusty rubbish. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:6سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ
87:6We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:7إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ
87:7Unless God may please. He knows the visible and knows what is hidden. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:8وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
87:8We shall take you slowly towards ease. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:9فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ
87:9So remind them if reminder is profitable: - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:10سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ
87:10Those who fear will understand. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:11وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى
87:11Only the wretch will turn aside, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:12ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
87:12Who will burn in the terrible Fire, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:13ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ
87:13In which he will neither die nor live. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:14قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
87:14Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:15وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
87:15And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:16بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
87:16But no, you prefer the life of the world, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:17وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ
87:17Though the life to come is better and abiding. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:18إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ
87:18This is surely in the earlier Books, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:19صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
87:19The Books of Abraham and Moses. - Ahmed Ali (English)
