بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

89:1وَٱلْفَجْرِ
89:1I CALL TO witness the dawn - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:2وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ
89:2And the Ten Nights, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:3وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ
89:3The multiple and the one, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:4وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ
89:4The night as it advances, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:5هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ
89:5Is there not an evidence in this for those who have sense? - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:6أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ
89:6Have you not seen what your Lord did to the 'Ad - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:7إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ
89:7Of Eram with lofty pillars (erected as signposts in the desert), - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:8ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ
89:8The like of whom were never created in the realm; - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:9وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ
89:9And with Thamud who carved rocks in the valley; - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:10وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ
89:10And the mighty Pharaoh - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:11ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ
89:11Who terrorised the region, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:12فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ
89:12And multiplied corruption. - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:13فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ
89:13So your Lord poured a scourge of punishment over them. - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:14إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ
89:14Your Lord is certainly in wait. - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:15فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَكْرَمَنِ
89:15As for man, whenever his Lord tries him and then is gracious and provides good things for him, he says: "My Lord has been gracious to me." - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:16وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَـٰنَنِ
89:16But when He tries him by restraining his means, he says: "My Lord despises me." - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:17كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ
89:17No. In fact you are not generous to the orphans, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:18وَلَا تَحَـٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ
89:18Nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:19وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَّمًّا
89:19And you devour (others') inheritance greedily, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:20وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا
89:20And love wealth with all your heart. - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:21كَلَّآ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا
89:21Surely when We pound the earth to powder grounded, pounded to dust, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:22وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا
89:22And comes your Lord, and angels row on row, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:23وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ
89:23And Hell is brought near, that day will man remember, but of what avail will then remembering be? - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:24يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى
89:24He will say: "Alas the woe! Would that I had sent ahead something in my life." - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:25فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ
89:25None can punish as He will punish on that day, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:26وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ
89:26And none can bind as He will bind. - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:27يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ
89:27O you tranquil soul, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:28ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً
89:28Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him. - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:29فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَـٰدِى
89:29"Enter then among My votaries, - Ahmed Ali (English)

89:30وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى
89:30Enter then My garden." - Ahmed Ali (English)
