بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

75:1لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:1I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:2وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
75:2And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:3أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
75:3Does man think We shall not put his bones together? - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:4بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
75:4Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:5بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
75:5Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:6يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:6He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:7فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
75:7Yet when the eyes are dazzled, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:8وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
75:8The moon eclipsed, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:9وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
75:9And the sun and moon are conjoined, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:10يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
75:10That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:11كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
75:11Never so, for there will be no escape. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:12إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
75:12With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:13يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
75:13Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:14بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
75:14In fact man is a witness against himself, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:15وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
75:15Whatever the excuses he may offer. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:16لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
75:16Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:17إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:17Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:18فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:18So, as We recite it, follow its reading. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:19ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
75:19The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:20كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
75:20But no. You love this transient life, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:21وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
75:21And neglect the Hereafter. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:22وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
75:22How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:23إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
75:23Waiting for their Lord. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:24وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
75:24And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:25تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
75:25Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:26كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
75:26Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:27وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ
75:27And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:28وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
75:28He will then realise it is the parting, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:29وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
75:29And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:30إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
75:30To your Lord then will be the driving. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:31فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
75:31For he neither believed nor prayed, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:32وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
75:32But only disavowed and turned away; - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:33ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
75:33Then he strutted back to his people. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:34أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
75:34Alas the woe for you, alas! - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:35ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
75:35Alas, the woe for you! - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:36أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
75:36Does man think that he will be left alone to himself, free? - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:37أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
75:37Was he not an emitted drop of semen, - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:38ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
75:38Then formed into an embryo? Then He fashioned, shaped and proportioned - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:39فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
75:39And assigned it sexes, male and female. - Ahmed Ali (English)

75:40أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
75:40Cannot such as He bring the dead to life? - Ahmed Ali (English)
