بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
91:1وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
91:1I CALL TO witness the sun and his early morning splendour, - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:2وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
91:2And the moon as she follows in his wake, - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:3وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
91:3The day when it reveals his radiance, - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:4وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا
91:4The night when it covers him over, - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:5وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
91:5The heavens and its architecture, - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:6وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا
91:6The earth and its spreading out, - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:7وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا
91:7The soul and how it was integrated - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:8فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
91:8And given the faculty of knowing what is disruptive and what is intrinsic to it. - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:9قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
91:9He who nourishes it will surely be successful, - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:10وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا
91:10And he who confines it will surely come to grief. - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:11كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ
91:11The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:12إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا
91:12When among them the great wretch arose, - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:13فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا
91:13And the apostle of God had to tell them: "This is God's she-camel, let her drink." - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:14فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
91:14But they called him a liar and hamstrung her. So God obliterated them for their crime, and (destroyed) all of them alike. - Ahmed Ali (English)
91:15وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا
91:15He does not fear the consequence. - Ahmed Ali (English)
