بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
86:1وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
86:1I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:2وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
86:2How will you comprehend what the night star is? - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:3ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
86:3It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:4إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
86:4That over each soul there is a guardian. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:5فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
86:5Let man consider what he was made of: - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:6خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
86:6He was created of spurting water - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:7يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
86:7Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:8إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
86:8God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:9يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
86:9The day all secrets are examined - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:10فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
86:10He will have no strength or helper. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:11وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
86:11So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:12وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
86:12And the earth which opens up (with verdure), - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:13إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
86:13That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:14وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
86:14And no trifle. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:15إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
86:15They are hatching up a plot, - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:16وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
86:16But I too am devising a plan. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:17فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
86:17So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. - Ahmed Ali (English)
