In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
19:1
كٓهيعٓصٓ
19:1
KAF HA YA 'AIN SAD. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:2
ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُۥ زَكَرِيَّآ
19:2
Commemorate the beneficence of your Lord on Zachariah, His devotee, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:3
إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ نِدَآءً خَفِيًّا
19:3
When he called to his Lord inwardly, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:4
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا
19:4
And said: "O my Lord, my bones decay, my head is white and hoary, yet in calling You, O Lord, I have never been deprived. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:5
وَإِنِّى خِفْتُ ٱلْمَوَٰلِىَ مِن وَرَآءِى وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا
19:5
But I fear my relatives after me; and my wife is barren. So grant me a successor as a favour from You - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:6
يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا
19:6
Who will be heir to me, and heir to the house of Jacob; and make him obedient to You, O Lord." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:7
يَـٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا
19:7
"O Zachariah," (it was) said, "We give you good news of a son by name of John.' To none have We attributed the name before." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:8
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ ٱلْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا
19:8
"How can I have a son, O Lord" he said, "when my wife is barren and I am old and decrepit?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:9
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْـًٔا
19:9
(The angel) answered: "Thus will it be. Your Lord said: 'This is easy for Me; for when I brought you into being you were nothing.' - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:10
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً ۚ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَـٰثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا
19:10
He said: "O Lord, give me a token." "Though sound," He answered, "you will not talk to any one for three nights running." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:11
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا۟ بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
19:11
So he came from the chamber to his people, and suggested to them (by signs) to sing the praises of the Lord morning and evening. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:12
يَـٰيَحْيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا
19:12
(We said:) "O John, hold fast to the Book;" and We gave him wisdom right from boyhood, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:13
وَحَنَانًا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةً ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا
19:13
And compassion from Us, and goodness. So he was devout, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:14
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا
19:14
And kind to his parents, neither arrogant nor disobedient. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:15
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
19:15
So peace on him the day he was born, the day he will die, and the day that he will be raised from the dead. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:16
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا
19:16
Commemorate Mary in the Book. When she withdrew from her family to a place in the East - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:17
فَٱتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا
19:17
And took cover from them, We sent a spirit of Ours to her who appeared before her in the concrete form of a man. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:18
قَالَتْ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّا
19:18
"I seek refuge in the Merciful from you, if you fear Him," she said. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:19
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَـٰمًا زَكِيًّا
19:19
He replied: "I am only a messenger from your Lord (sent) to bestow a good son on you." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:20
قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا
19:20
"How can I have a son," she said, "when no man has touched me, nor am I sinful?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:21
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓ ءَايَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِّنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَّقْضِيًّا
19:21
He said: "Thus will it be. Your Lord said: 'It is easy for Me,' and that: 'We shall make him a sign for men and a blessing from Us.' This is a thing already decreed." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:22
۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا
19:22
When she conceived him she went away to a distant place. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:23
فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَـٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًا مَّنسِيًّا
19:23
The birth pangs led her to the trunk of a date-palm tree. "Would that I had died before this," she said, "and become a thing forgotten, unremembered." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:24
فَنَادَىٰهَا مِن تَحْتِهَآ أَلَّا تَحْزَنِى قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا
19:24
Then (a voice) called to her from below: "Grieve not; your Lord has made a rivulet gush forth right below you. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:25
وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ تُسَـٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا
19:25
Shake the trunk of the date-palm tree, and it will drop ripe dates for you. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:26
فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًا ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّا
19:26
Eat and drink, and be at peace. If you see any man, tell him: 'I have verily vowed a fast to Ar-Rahman and cannot speak to any one this day.' - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:27
فَأَتَتْ بِهِۦ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُۥ ۖ قَالُوا۟ يَـٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْـًٔا فَرِيًّا
19:27
Then she brought the child to her people. They exclaimed: "O Mary, you have done a most astonishing thing! - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:28
يَـٰٓأُخْتَ هَـٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا
19:28
O sister of Aaron, your father was not a wicked person, nor your mother sinful!" - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:29
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا
19:29
But she pointed towards him. "How can we talk to one," they said, "who is only an infant in the cradle?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:30
قَالَ إِنِّى عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَىٰنِىَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّا
19:30
"I am a servant of God," he answered. "He has given me a Book and made me a prophet, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:31
وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَـٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا
19:31
And blessed me wherever I may be, and enjoined on me worship and zakat for as long as I live, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:32
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَتِى وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِى جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا
19:32
And be dutiful to my mother. He has not made me haughty or rebellious. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:33
وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
19:33
There was peace on me the day I was born, and will be the day I die, and on the day I will be raised from the dead." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:34
ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
19:34
This was Jesus, son of Mary: A true account they contend about. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:35
مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍ ۖ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥٓ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
19:35
It does not behove God to have a son. Too immaculate is He! When He decrees a thing He has only to say: "Be", and it is. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:36
وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ
19:36
(Jesus only said:) "Surely God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:37
فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
19:37
Yet the sectarians differed among themselves. Alas for the unbelievers when they see the Terrible Day! - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:38
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَـٰكِنِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
19:38
How keenly would they hear and see when they come before Us then, even though today the evil-doers are lost in palpable error. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:39
وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
19:39
Warn them of that day of pining when all matters will have been settled, though they would still be unaware and unbelieving (of the truth). - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:40
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
19:40
Verily We shall inherit the earth and whosoever is on it, and to Us they will return. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:41
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا
19:41
Commemorate Abraham in the Book: He was upright, a prophet. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:42
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنكَ شَيْـًٔا
19:42
Remember, when he said to his father: "O my father, why do you worship that which can neither hear nor see nor even profit you the least? - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:43
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰطًا سَوِيًّا
19:43
O my father, to me has come such knowledge as never came to you. So follow me that I may show you the right path. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:44
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَصِيًّا
19:44
Why do you worship Satan, O father? Verily Satan was disobedient to Ar-Rahman. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:45
يَـٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَـٰنِ وَلِيًّا
19:45
O my father, I fear lest a punishment from Ar-Rahman should befall you, and you should become a friend of the Devil." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:46
قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّا
19:46
He said: "Are you averse to my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I shall have you stoned to death. So go away for a while from me." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:47
قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّا
19:47
He answered: "Peace be on you. I will seek forgiveness of my Lord for you. He has been gracious to me. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:48
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّا
19:48
I will leave you and those you invoke apart from God, and pray to my Lord. Haply in praying to my Lord I will not be deprived." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:49
فَلَمَّا ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا
19:49
Thus, when he left them and the (idols) they worshipped, We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and made each of them a prophet, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:50
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا
19:50
And bestowed on them some of Our blessings, and gave them high renown. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:51
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مُوسَىٰٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا
19:51
Commemorate Moses in the Book. He was a chosen one, both an apostle and a prophet. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:52
وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَـٰهُ نَجِيًّا
19:52
We called him from the right side of the Mount, and brought him close for communion; - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:53
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ نَبِيًّا
19:53
And bestowed on him his brother Aaron, a prophet, through Our benevolence. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:54
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَّبِيًّا
19:54
Commemorate Ishmael in the Book. He was true of his promise, and a messenger, a prophet. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:55
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّا
19:55
He enjoined on his household worship and zakat, and he was obedient to his Lord. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:56
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا
19:56
Commemorate Enoch in the Book. He was a truthful person and a prophet, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:57
وَرَفَعْنَـٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
19:57
And We raised him to an exalted station. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:58
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩
19:58
These are (some of) those who were favoured by God among the prophets of the progeny of Adam, and of those We bore in the ark with Noah, and the offspring of Abraham and Israel, and of those We guided and We chose, for they bowed weeping in adoration when the revelations of Ar-Rahman were recited to them. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:59
۞ فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
19:59
But they are succeeded by a generation who neglect their devotional obligations and follow only earthly pleasures; but they will reach the wrong road and meet destruction, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:60
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًٔا
19:60
Except those who repent and come to believe and do the right. These will enter Paradise and will not be wronged the least - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:61
جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّا
19:61
In the gardens of Eden promised by Ar-Rahman to His creatures in the unknown (future). Verily His promise will come to pass. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:62
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَـٰمًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
19:62
They will hear no vain talk there, but only salutations of peace, and they will have their sustenance morning and evening." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:63
تِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّا
19:63
This is the Paradise those of Our creatures will inherit who take heed and fear the displeasure of God. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:64
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا
19:64
"We do not come down," (will the angels say) "but only by your Lord's command." To Him belongs whatever lies before us and behind us, and the space in between. Your Lord does not ever forget: - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:65
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَـٰدَتِهِۦ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّا
19:65
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them. Therefore worship Him, and be constant in His worship. Do you know any namesake of His? - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:66
وَيَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَءِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا
19:66
Yet man says: "When I am dead, will I come to life again?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:67
أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْـًٔا
19:67
Does man not remember that before We created him he was nothing? - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:68
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا
19:68
By your Lord, We shall gather them and the devils together, then bring them crawling on their knees around Hell. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:69
ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عِتِيًّا
19:69
We shall pull out of every section those who were most perversely rebellious against Ar-Rahman. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:70
ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّا
19:70
We know best who deserve to be burnt in (the Fire). - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:71
وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا
19:71
There is not one among you who will not reach it. Your Lord has made this incumbent on Himself. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:72
ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّنَذَرُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا
19:72
We shall deliver those who took heed for themselves, and leave the evil-doers kneeling there. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:73
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا
19:73
When Our lucid revelations are read out to them, the infidels say to those who believe: "Which of the two groups is better in standing, and whose company is more excellent?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:74
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَـٰثًا وَرِءْيًا
19:74
How many generations that had far more wealth and ostentation have We laid low before them! - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:75
قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًا
19:75
Say: "Ar-Rahman extends the life of those who are astray until they come to realise what had been promised them was either (physical) affliction or (the terror) of Resurrection. Then will they know who is worse in position, and who is weak in supporters. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:76
وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ هُدًى ۗ وَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَّرَدًّا
19:76
God gives greater guidance to those who are guided; and good deeds that endure are better with your Lord for reward, and better for consequence. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:77
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا
19:77
Have you seen him who denies Our revelations, and says: "I will certainly be given wealth and children." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:78
أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَهْدًا
19:78
Has he peeped into the Unknown, or obtained a promise from Ar-Rahman? - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:79
كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ مَدًّا
19:79
Never so. We shall certainly write down what he says, and prolong the extent of his punishment. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:80
وَنَرِثُهُۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًا
19:80
All that he claims will revert to Us, and he will come before Us all alone. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:81
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّا
19:81
They have taken other gods apart from God that they might be a strength to them. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:82
كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا
19:82
Never. They will deny their devotion and become their adversaries. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:83
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينَ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّا
19:83
Do you not see that We have set the devils against the infidels to rouse and instigate them? - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:84
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّا
19:84
So, do not be hasty with them. We are counting their number (of days). - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:85
يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَفْدًا
19:85
The day We shall usher the righteous before Ar-Rahman like envoys into the presence of a king, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:86
وَنَسُوقُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًا
19:86
And drive the wicked into Hell like cattle driven to water, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:87
لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَهْدًا
19:87
None will have power to intercede for them except one who obtains a promise from Ar-Rahman. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:88
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَلَدًا
19:88
They say: "God has begotten a son." - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:89
لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِدًّا
19:89
You have uttered a grievous thing - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:90
تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا
19:90
Which would cleave the skies asunder, rend the earth, and split the mountains, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:91
أَن دَعَوْا۟ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ وَلَدًا
19:91
For they have attributed a son to Ar-Rahman, - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:92
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
19:92
When it does not behove the Merciful to have a son. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:93
إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ عَبْدًا
19:93
There is no one in the heavens and the earth but comes before Ar-Rahman in all obedience. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:94
لَّقَدْ أَحْصَىٰهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّا
19:94
He has counted them and calculated their number. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:95
وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فَرْدًا
19:95
Every one of them will come before Him all alone on the Day of Resurrection. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:96
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وُدًّا
19:96
Surely Ar-Rahman will show love for those who believe and do the right. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:97
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمًا لُّدًّا
19:97
So We have made this (Qur'an) easy in your tongue that you may give good news to those who take heed, and warn the people who are contentious. - Ahmed Ali (English)
19:98
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًۢا
19:98
How many generations have We laid low before them. Do you see any sign of them, or hear the least whisper of them? - Ahmed Ali (English)
