6:42
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
6:42
We sent messengers before you [Prophet] to many communities and afflicted their people with suffering and hardship, so that they might humble themselves. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
