Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
50:1
قٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ
50:1
Qaf. By the glorious Quran! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:2
بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ
50:2
Indeed, they are astonished that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. So these deniers of the truth say, "This is indeed a strange thing, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:3
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌ
50:3
to come back to life after we have died and become dust? That is most improbable!" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:4
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَـٰبٌ حَفِيظٌۢ
50:4
We know very well what the earth takes away from them: We hold a book which records all things. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:5
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِىٓ أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ
50:5
But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a state of confusion. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:6
أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ
50:6
Have they not observed the sky above them and marked how We have built it and adorned it, leaving no flaws in it; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:7
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ
50:7
We spread out the earth and set upon it solid mountains and We brought forth from it all kinds of delightful plants, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:8
تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ
50:8
as a lesson and reminder for every human being who turns to God; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:9
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبَـٰرَكًا فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَحَبَّ ٱلْحَصِيدِ
50:9
and We have sent down from the sky blessed water with which We have brought forth gardens and grain to be harvested, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:10
وَٱلنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَـٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ
50:10
and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:11
رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخُرُوجُ
50:11
as a provision for human beings; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life. Such shall be the Resurrection. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:12
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ
50:12
Before them, the people of Noah and the people of Rass denied this truth; and so did the people of Thamud. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:13
وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍ
50:13
And the tribe of 'Ad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:14
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ
50:14
and the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba': every one denied their messengers, and so My warning came true. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:15
أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ
50:15
Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a second creation. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:16
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ
50:16
We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:17
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ
50:17
and the two recording angels are recording, sitting on the right and the left: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:18
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ
50:18
each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:19
وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ
50:19
The trance of death will come revealing the truth: that is what you were trying to escape. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:20
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ
50:20
The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:21
وَجَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآئِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ
50:21
Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:22
لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ
50:22
You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:23
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَـٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ
50:23
His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:24
أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ
50:24
"Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:25
مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ
50:25
hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:26
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ
50:26
who has set up another god besides God: cast him into severe punishment" -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:27
۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ
50:27
and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:28
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ
50:28
God will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence. I gave you the warning beforehand - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:29
مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
50:29
and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:30
يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ
50:30
On that Day, We shall ask Hell, "Are you now full?" Hell will answer, "Are there any more?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:31
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ
50:31
Paradise will be brought near to the righteous and will no longer be far away. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:32
هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ
50:32
This is what you were promised -- this is for everyone who often turned to God and kept Him in mind, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:33
مَّنْ خَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ
50:33
who fears the Compassionate One, though He is unseen, and comes to Him with a penitent heart; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:34
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُلُودِ
50:34
so enter it in peace. This is the Day of everlasting life. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:35
لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ
50:35
There they shall have all that they desire, and there is even more with Us. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:36
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ
50:36
How many a generation, far greater in prowess, have We destroyed before them! They searched the entire land: but could they find a refuge? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:37
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ
50:37
There is truly a reminder in this for whoever has a heart, whoever listens attentively. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:38
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ
50:38
We created the heavens, the earth, and everything between them in six days [periods] nor were We ever wearied. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:39
فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ
50:39
So bear with patience what they say, and glorify your Lord with His praise, before the rising and before the setting of the sun; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:40
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَـٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ
50:40
proclaim His praise in the night and at the end of every prayer. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:41
وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ
50:41
Hearken! The Day when the caller will call from near. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:42
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ
50:42
The Day when men will hear the fateful cry, they will rise up [from their graves]. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:43
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ
50:43
Truly, it is We who give life and cause death, and to Us shall all return - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:44
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ
50:44
on the Day the earth will be rent asunder over them, and from it they shall emerge in haste. To assemble them all is easy enough for Us. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
50:45
نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ
50:45
We know best what those who deny the truth say. You are not there to force them: so remind, with this Quran, those who fear My warning. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
