بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

71:1 إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
71:1 Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:2 قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
71:2 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:3 أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ
71:3 (Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:4 يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
71:4 That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:5 قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا
71:5 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:6 فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا
71:6 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:7 وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَـٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا
71:7 And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:8 ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا
71:8 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:9 ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا
71:9 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:10 فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
71:10 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:11 يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا
71:11 He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:12 وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَـٰرًا
71:12 And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:13 مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا
71:13 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:14 وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا
71:14 When He created you by (divers) stages? - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:15 أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَـٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا
71:15 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:16 وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا
71:16 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:17 وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا
71:17 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:18 ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا
71:18 And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:19 وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا
71:19 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:20 لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا
71:20 That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:21 قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا
71:21 Noah said: My Lord! Lo! they have disobeyed me and followed one whose wealth and children increase him in naught save ruin; - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:22 وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا
71:22 And they have plotted a mighty plot, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:23 وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا
71:23 And they have said: Forsake not your gods. Forsake not Wadd, nor Suwa', nor Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:24 وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَـٰلًا
71:24 And they have led many astray, and Thou increasest the wrong-doers in naught save error. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:25 مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا
71:25 Because of their sins they were drowned, then made to enter a Fire. And they found they had no helpers in place of Allah. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:26 وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا
71:26 And Noah said: My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers in the land. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:27 إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا
71:27 If Thou shouldst leave them, they will mislead Thy slaves and will beget none save lewd ingrates. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

71:28 رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا
71:28 My Lord! Forgive me and my parents and him who entereth my house believing, and believing men and believing women, and increase not the wrong-doers in aught save ruin. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
