Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
71:1
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
71:1
Verily We! We sent Nuh Unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come Unto them torment afflictive. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:2
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
71:2
He said: O my people! verily I am Unto you a warner manifest. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:3
أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ
71:3
Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:4
يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
71:4
He will forgive you your sins, and will defer you to an appointed term. Verily the term of Allah when it cometh shall not be deferred, if ye but knew. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:5
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا
71:5
He said: my Lord! verily have called my people night and day. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:6
فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا
71:6
And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:7
وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَـٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا
71:7
And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:8
ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا
71:8
Then verily have called Unto them publicly: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:9
ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا
71:9
Then verily spake Unto them openly, and secretly also I addressed them. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:10
فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
71:10
And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:11
يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا
71:11
He will send the heaven upon you copiously; - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:12
وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَـٰرًا
71:12
And He will add Unto you riches and children and will appoint Unto you gardens and will appoint Unto you rivers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:13
مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا
71:13
What aileth you that ye expect not in Allah majesty! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:14
وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا
71:14
And surely He hath created you by stages. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:15
أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَـٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا
71:15
Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:16
وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا
71:16
And hath placed the moon therein for a light, and hath made the sun a lamp? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:17
وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا
71:17
And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:18
ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا
71:18
And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:19
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا
71:19
And Allah hath made the earth Unto you an expanse. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:20
لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا
71:20
That of it ye may traverse the ways open. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:21
قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا
71:21
Nuh said. my Lord! verily they have disobeyed me and followed them whose riches and children have only increased them in loss. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:22
وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا
71:22
And who have plotted a tremendous plot - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:23
وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا
71:23
And who have said: ye shall not leave your gods; nor Shall ye leave Wadd nor Suwa', nor Yaghuth, nor Ya'uq nor Nasr. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:24
وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَـٰلًا
71:24
And surely they have misled many. And increase Thou these wrong-doers in naught save error. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:25
مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا
71:25
And because of their misdeeds they were drowned, and then they were made to enter a Fire. Then they found not for themselves, beside Allah, any helpers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:26
وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا
71:26
And Nuh said: my Lord! leave not upon the earth of the infidels one inhabitant. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:27
إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا
71:27
Verily if Thou shouldst leave them, they Will mislead Thine bondmen and will beget not save sinning infidels, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
71:28
رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا
71:28
My Lord! forgive me and my parents and him who entereth my house as a believer, and believing men and believing women, and increase not the wrong-doers in aught save ruin! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
