بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
71:1
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
71:1
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
Verily, We sent Nuh to his people (saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment."
71:2
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
71:2
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you,"
71:3
أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ
71:3
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
"That you should worship Allah, and have Taqwa of Him, and obey me,"
71:4
يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
71:4
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
"He will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but know."
71:5
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا
71:5
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
He said: O my Lord! Verily, I have called to my people night and day,
71:6
فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا
71:6
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight.
71:7
وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَـٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا
71:7
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
And verily, every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted, and magnified themselves in pride.
71:8
ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا
71:9
ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا
71:9
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private.
71:10
فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
71:10
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
I said (to them): Ask forgiveness from your Lord, verily, He is Oft-Forgiving;
71:11
يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا
71:12
وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَـٰرًا
71:12
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.
71:13
مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا
71:13
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
What is the matter with you, that you do not hope for any Waqar from Allah
71:14
وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا
71:15
أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَـٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا
71:15
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens in tiers
71:16
وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا
71:16
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp
71:17
وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا
71:17
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
And Allah has brought you forth from the (dust of) earth
71:18
ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا
71:18
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth.
71:19
وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا
71:19
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse.
71:20
لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا
71:21
قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا
71:21
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
Nuh said: "My Lord! They have disobeyed me, and followed one whose wealth and children give him no increase but loss."
71:22
وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا
71:23
وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا
71:23
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
"And they have said: `You shall not leave your gods, nor shall you leave Wadd, nor Suwa`, nor Yaghuth, and Ya`uq and Nasr.' "
71:24
وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَـٰلًا
71:24
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
"And indeed they have led many astray. And (O Allah): `Grant no increase to the wrongdoers save error."'
71:25
مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا
71:25
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
Because of their sins they were drowned, then were made to enter the Fire. And they found none to help them instead of Allah.
71:26
وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا
71:26
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
And Nuh said: "My Lord! Leave not one of the disbelievers on the earth Dayyar!"
71:27
إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا
71:27
Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English) :
"If You leave them, they will mislead Your servants, and they will beget none but wicked disbelievers."
71:28
رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا
71:28
