Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
76:1
هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ حِينٌ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًٔا مَّذْكُورًا
76:1
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:2
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا
76:2
Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:3
إِنَّا هَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا
76:3
Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:4
إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَـٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا
76:4
Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:5
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا
76:5
Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:6
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا
76:6
A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah drink, making it gush forth abundantly, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:7
يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًا
76:7
(Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:8
وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا
76:8
And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:9
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا
76:9
(Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:10
إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا
76:10
Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:11
فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا
76:11
Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:12
وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا
76:12
And hath awarded them for all that they endured, a Garden and silk attire; - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:13
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا
76:13
Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:14
وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَـٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا
76:14
The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:15
وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠
76:15
Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:16
قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا
76:16
(Bright as) glass but (made) of silver, which they (themselves) have measured to the measure (of their deeds). - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:17
وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا
76:17
There are they watered with a cup whereof the mixture is of Zanjabil, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:18
عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا
76:18
(The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:19
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا
76:19
There wait on them immortal youths, whom, when thou seest, thou wouldst take for scattered pearls. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:20
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا
76:20
When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:21
عَـٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ ۖ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا
76:21
Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:22
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا
76:22
(And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:23
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًا
76:23
Lo! We, even We, have revealed unto thee the Qur'an, a revelation; - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:24
فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا
76:24
So submit patiently to thy Lord's command, and obey not of them any guilty one or disbeliever. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:25
وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
76:25
Remember the name of thy Lord at morn and evening. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:26
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا
76:26

76:27
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا
76:27
Lo! these love fleeting life, and put behind them (the remembrance of) a grievous day. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:28
نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا
76:28
We, even We, created them, and strengthened their frame. And when We will, We can replace them, bringing others like them in their stead. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:29
إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا
76:29
Lo! this is an Admonishment, that whosoever will may choose a way unto his Lord. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:30
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
76:30
Yet ye will not, unless Allah willeth. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
76:31
يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا
76:31
He maketh whom He will to enter His mercy, and for evil-doers hath prepared a painful doom. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)
