بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
76:1
هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ حِينٌ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًٔا مَّذْكُورًا
76:1
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was not a thing worth mentioning - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:2
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا
76:2
Verily, We have created man from Nutfah Amshaj, in order to try him, so, We made him hearer and seer. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:3
إِنَّا هَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا
76:3
Verily, We guided him to the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:4
إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَـٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا
76:4
Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and Sa`ir. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:5
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا
76:5
Verily, the Abrar (righteous believers) shall drink of a cup mixed with Kafur. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:6
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا
76:6
A spring wherefrom the servants of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:7
يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًا
76:7
They fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:8
وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا
76:8
And they give food, inspite of their love for it, to the poor, the orphan and the captive, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:9
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا
76:9
(Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Face only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:10
إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا
76:10
"Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day that is `Abus and Qamtarir." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:11
فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا
76:11
So, Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadrah (a light of beauty) and joy. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:12
وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا
76:12
And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:13
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا
76:13
Reclining therein on raised couches, they will see there neither the excessive heat, nor the excessive cold. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:14
وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَـٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا
76:14
And the shade thereof is close upon them, and the bunches of fruit thereof will hang low within their reach. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:15
وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠
76:15
And among them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal -- - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:16
قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا
76:16
(Qawarir) Crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure thereof. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:17
وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا
76:17
And they will be given to drink there of a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabil (ginger), - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:18
عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا
76:18
A spring there, called Salsabil. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:19
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا
76:19
And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:20
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا
76:20
And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:21
عَـٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ ۖ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا
76:21
Their garments will be of fine green silk, and Istabraq. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:22
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا
76:22
(And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavor has been accepted." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:23
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًا
76:23
Verily, it is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to you by stages. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:24
فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا
76:24
Therefore be patient with constancy to the command of your Lord, and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:25
وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا
76:25
And remember the Name of your Lord every morning and afternoon. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:26
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا
76:26
And during the night, prostrate yourself to Him, and glorify Him a long night through. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:27
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا
76:27
Verily, these love the present life of this world, and put behind them a heavy Day. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:28
نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا
76:28
It is We Who created them, and We have made them of strong build. And when We will, We can replace them with others like them with a complete replacement. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:29
إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا
76:29
Verily, this is an admonition, so whosoever wills, let him take a path to his Lord. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:30
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا
76:30
But you cannot will, unless Allah wills. Verily, Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
76:31
يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا
76:31
He will admit to His mercy whom He wills and as for the wrongdoers -- He has prepared a painful torment. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
