بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
44:1
حمٓ
44:1
Ha Mim! - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:2
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
44:2
I swear by the Book that makes manifest (the truth). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:3
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
44:3
Surely We revealed it on a blessed night surely We are ever warning-- - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:4
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
44:4
Therein every wise affair is made distinct, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:5
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
44:5
A command from Us; surely We are the senders (of apostles), - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:6
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
44:6
A mercy from your Lord, surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:7
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
44:7
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:8
لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
44:8
There is no god but He; He gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:9
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
44:9
Nay, they are in doubt, they sport. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:10
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:10
Therefore keep waiting for the day when the heaven shall bring an evident smoke, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:11
يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
44:11
That shall overtake men; this is a painful punishment. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:12
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
44:12
Our Lord! remove from us the punishment; surely we are believers. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:13
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
44:13
How shall they be reminded, and there came to them an Apostle making clear (the truth), - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:14
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
44:14
Yet they turned their backs on him and said: One taught (by others), a madman. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:15
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
44:15
Surely We will remove the punishment a little, (but) you will surely return (to evil). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:16
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
44:16
On the day when We will seize (them) with the most violent seizing; surely We will inflict retribution. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:17
۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
44:17
And certainly We tried before them the people of Firon, and there came to them a noble apostle, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:18
أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
44:18
Saying: Deliver to me the servants of Allah, surely I am a faithful apostle to you, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:19
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:19
And that do not exalt yourselves against Allah, surely I will bring to you a clear authority: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:20
وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
44:20
And surely I take refuge with my Lord and your Lord that you should stone me to death: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:21
وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
44:21
And if you do not believe in me, then leave me alone. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:22
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
44:22
Then he called upon his Lord: These are a guilty people. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:23
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
44:23
So go forth with My servants by night; surely you will be pursued: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:24
وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
44:24
And leave the sea intervening; surely they are a host that shall be drowned. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:25
كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:25
How many of the gardens and fountains have they left! - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:26
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
44:26
And cornfields and noble places! - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:27
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهِينَ
44:27
And goodly things wherein they rejoiced; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:28
كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
44:28
Thus (it was), and We gave them as a heritage to another people. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:29
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
44:29
So the heaven and the earth did not weep for them, nor were they respited. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:30
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
44:30
And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:31
مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
44:31
From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:32
وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
44:32
And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:33
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
44:33
And We gave them of the communications wherein was clear blessing. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:34
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
44:34
Most surely these do say: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:35
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
44:35
There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:36
فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
44:36
So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:37
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
44:37
Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:38
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
44:38
And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:39
مَا خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
44:39
We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:40
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
44:40
Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:41
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
44:41
The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:42
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
44:42
Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:43
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
44:43
Surely the tree of the Zaqqum, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:44
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
44:44
Is the food of the sinful - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:45
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
44:45
Like dregs of oil; it shall boil in (their) bellies, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:46
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:46
Like the boiling of hot water. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:47
خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:47
Seize him, then drag him down into the middle of the hell; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:48
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:48
Then pour above his head of the torment of the boiling water: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:49
ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
44:49
Taste; you forsooth are the mighty, the honorable: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:50
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
44:50
Surely this is what you disputed about. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:51
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
44:51
Surely those who guard (against evil) are in a secure place, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:52
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:52
In gardens and springs; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:53
يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
44:53
They shall wear of fine and thick silk, (sitting) face to face; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:54
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
44:54
Thus (shall it be), and We will wed them with Houris pure, beautiful ones. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:55
يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
44:55
They shall call therein for every fruit in security; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:56
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:56
They shall not taste therein death except the first death, and He will save them from the punishment of the hell, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:57
فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
44:57
A grace from your Lord; this is the great achievement. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:58
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
44:58
So have We made it easy in your tongue that they may be mindful. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
44:59
فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
44:59
Therefore wait; surely they are waiting. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
