بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
44:1
حمٓ
44:1
Ha Mim. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:2
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
44:2
By the manifest Book that makes things clear. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:3
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
44:3
We sent it down on a blessed night. Verily, We are ever warning. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:4
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
44:4
Therein (that night) is decreed every matter, Hakim. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:5
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
44:5
As a command from Us. Verily, We are ever sending, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:6
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
44:6
(As) a mercy from your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:7
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
44:7
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you (but) have a faith with certainty. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:8
لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
44:8
La ilaha illa Huwa. He gives life and causes death -- your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:9
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
44:9
Nay! They play about in doubt. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:10
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:10
Then wait you for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:11
يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
44:11
Covering mankind, this is a painful torment. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:12
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
44:12
(They will say): "Our Lord! Remove the torment from us, really we shall become believers!" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:13
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
44:13
How can there be for them an admonition, when a Messenger explaining things clearly has already come to them. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:14
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
44:14
Then they had turned away from him and said: "(He is) one taught, a madman!" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:15
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
44:15
Verily, We shall remove the torment for a while. Verily, you will revert. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:16
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
44:16
On the Day when We shall strike you with the great Batshah. Verily, We will exact retribution. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:17
۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
44:17
And indeed We tried before them Fir`awn's people, when there came to them a noble Messenger. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:18
أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
44:18
Saying: "Deliver to me the servants of Allah. Verily, I am to you a Messenger worthy of all trust." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:19
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:19
"And exalt not yourselves against Allah. Truly, I have come to you with a manifest authority." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:20
وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
44:20
"And truly, I seek refuge with my Lord and your Lord, lest you should stone me." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:21
وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
44:21
"But if you believe me not, then keep away from me and leave me alone." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:22
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
44:22
So he (Musa) called upon his Lord (saying): "These are indeed the people who are criminals." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:23
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
44:23
(Allah said): "Depart you with My servants by night. Surely, you will be pursued." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:24
وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
44:24
"And leave the sea as it is (quiet and divided). Verily, they are a host to be drowned." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:25
كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:25
How many of gardens and springs that they (Fir`awn's people) left behind, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:26
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
44:26
And green crops (fields) and goodly places, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:27
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهِينَ
44:27
And comforts of life wherein they used to take delight! - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:28
كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
44:28
Thus (it was)! And We made other people inherit them. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:29
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
44:29
And the heavens and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given respite. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:30
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
44:30
And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:31
مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
44:31
From Fir`awn; verily, he was arrogant and was of the excessive. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:32
وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
44:32
And We chose them above the nations (Al-`Alamin) with knowledge, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:33
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
44:33
And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:34
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
44:34
Verily, these people are saying: - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:35
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
44:35
"There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:36
فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
44:36
"Then bring back our forefathers, if you speak the truth!" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:37
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
44:37
Are they better or the people of Tubba` and those before them We destroyed them because they were indeed criminals. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:38
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
44:38
And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:39
مَا خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
44:39
We created them not except with truth, but most of them know not. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:40
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
44:40
Verily, the Day of Judgement is the time appointed for all of them -- - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:41
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
44:41
The Day when a near relative cannot avail a near relative in aught, and no help can they receive, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:42
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
44:42
Except him on whom Allah has mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:43
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
44:43
Verily, the tree of Zaqqum - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:44
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
44:44
Will be the food of the sinners. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:45
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
44:45
Like boiling oil, it will boil in the bellies, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:46
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:46
Like the boiling of scalding water. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:47
خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:47
(It will be said:) "Seize him and drag him into the midst of blazing Fire," - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:48
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:48
"Then pour over his head the torment of boiling water." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:49
ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
44:49
"Taste you (this)! Verily, you were (pretending to be) the mighty, the generous." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:50
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
44:50
"Verily, this is that whereof you used to doubt!" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:51
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
44:51
Verily, those who have Taqwa, will be in place of security. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:52
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:52
Among Gardens and Springs, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:53
يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
44:53
Dressed in Sundus and Istabraq, facing each other, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:54
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
44:54
So (it will be). And We shall marry them to Hur (fair females) with wide lovely eyes, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:55
يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
44:55
They will call therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security; - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:56
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:56
They will never taste death therein except the first death, and He will save them from the torment of the blazing Fire, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:57
فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
44:57
As a bounty from your Lord! That will be the supreme success! - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:58
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
44:58
Certainly, We have made this easy in your tongue, in order that they may remember. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
44:59
فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
44:59
Wait then; verily, they (too) are waiting. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
