بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

91:1 وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
91:1 By the sun and its rising brightness - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:2 وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
91:2 and by the moon as it follows it, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:3 وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
91:3 and by the day as it reveals its glory - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:4 وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا
91:4 and by the night when it draws a veil over it, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:5 وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
91:5 by the sky and how He built it - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:6 وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا
91:6 and by the earth and how He spread it, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:7 وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا
91:7 by the soul and how He formed it, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:8 فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
91:8 then inspired it to understand what was right and wrong for it. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:9 قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
91:9 He who purifies it will indeed be successful, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:10 وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا
91:10 and he who corrupts it is sure to fail. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:11 كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ
91:11 The Thamud tribe rejected the truth because of their arrogance, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:12 إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا
91:12 when the most wicked man among them rose up. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:13 فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا
91:13 Then the messenger of God said to them, "This is God's she-camel. Let her drink." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:14 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
91:14 But they gave him the lie, and hamstrung the she-camel. So their Lord destroyed them for their crime and razed their city to the ground. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

91:15 وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا
91:15 He did not fear the consequences. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
