بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
15:1
الٓر ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَقُرْءَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
15:1
Alif-Lam-Ra. These are Ayat of the Book and a plain Qur'an. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:2
رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ مُسْلِمِينَ
15:2
How much would those who disbelieved wish that they had been Muslims. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:3
ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُوا۟ وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ وَيُلْهِهِمُ ٱلْأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
15:3
Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know! - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:4
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
15:4
And never did We destroy a township but there was a known decree for it. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:5
مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
15:5
No nation can advance its term, nor delay it. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:6
وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِى نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ
15:6
And they say: "O you (Muhammad) to whom the Dhikr (the Qur'an) has been revealed! Verily, you are a madman! - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:7
لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
15:7
"Why do you not bring angels to us if you are of the truthful" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:8
مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓا۟ إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ
15:8
We do not send the angels down except with the truth, and in that case, they (the disbelievers) would have no respite! - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:9
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ
15:9
Verily, We, it is We Who revealed the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur'an) and surely We will guard it (from corruption). - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:10
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِى شِيَعِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
15:10
Indeed, We sent (Messengers) before you (O Muhammad) amongst the earlier communities. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:11
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
15:11
And there never came a Messenger to them but that they mocked him. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:12
كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
15:12
Thus We allow it to enter the hearts of the guilty. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:13
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
15:13
They would not believe in it (the Qur'an); and already the example of the ancients has gone forth. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:14
وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّوا۟ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ
15:14
And even if We opened to them a gate to the heavens and they were to continue ascending through it (all day long). - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:15
لَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَـٰرُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ
15:15
They would surely say (in the evening): "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled (we have not seen any angel or heaven). Nay, we are a people bewitched." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:16
وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
15:16
And indeed, We have put the big stars in the heaven and We beautified it for the beholders. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:17
وَحَفِظْنَـٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
15:17
And We have guarded it (near heaven) from every outcast Shaytan (devil). - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:18
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ
15:18
Except him (devil) who steals the hearing, then he is pursued by a clear flaming fire. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:19
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ
15:19
And We have spread out the earth, and have placed firm mountains in it, and caused all kinds of things to grow in it, in due proportion. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:20
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَـٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسْتُمْ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ
15:20
And in it We have provided means of living, for you and for those whom you provide not. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:21
وَإِن مِّن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
15:21
And there is not a thing, but the supplies for it are with Us, and We do not send it down but in a known measure. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:22
وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمْ لَهُۥ بِخَـٰزِنِينَ
15:22
And We send the winds fertilizing, then We cause the water to descend from the sky, and We give it to you to drink, and it is not you who are the owners of its supply. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:23
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
15:23
And certainly We! It is We Who give life, and cause death, and We are the Inheritors. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:24
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَ
15:24
And indeed, We know the first generations of you who have passed away, and indeed, We know the present generations of you (mankind), and also those who will come afterwards. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:25
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ
15:25
And verily, your Lord will gather them together. Truly, He is Most Wise, (and) Knowing. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:26
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
15:26
And indeed, We created man from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:27
وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَـٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
15:27
And the Jinn, We created earlier from the smokeless flame of fire. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:28
وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَـٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًا مِّن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
15:28
And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud. " - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:29
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَـٰجِدِينَ
15:29
"So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) of My spirit (the soul which I created for him,) then fall down, prostrating yourselves before him." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:30
فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
15:30
So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:31
إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
15:31
Except Iblis (Shaytan) - he refused to be among the prostrate. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:32
قَالَ يَـٰٓإِبْلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
15:32
(Allah) said: "O Iblis! What is your reason for not being among the prostrate" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:33
قَالَ لَمْ أَكُن لِّأَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهُۥ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ مِّنْ حَمَإٍ مَّسْنُونٍ
15:33
[Iblis] said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to a human, whom You created from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:34
قَالَ فَٱخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
15:34
(Allah) said: "Then leave, for verily, you are an outcast. " - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:35
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ ٱللَّعْنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
15:35
"And verily, the curse shall be upon you until the Day of Recompense." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:36
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
15:36
[Iblis] said: "O my Lord! Then give me respite until the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:37
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
15:37
Allah said: "Then verily, you are of those reprieved," - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:38
إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ
15:38
"Until the Day of the time appointed." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:39
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغْوَيْتَنِى لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
15:39
[Iblis] said: "O my Lord! Because You misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:40
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
15:40
"Except Your chosen (guided) servants among them." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:41
قَالَ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَىَّ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
15:41
(Allah) said: "This is the way which will lead straight to Me." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:42
إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْغَاوِينَ
15:42
"Certainly, you shall have no authority over My servants, except those of the astray who follow you." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:43
وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
15:43
And surely, Hell is the place promised for them all. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:44
لَهَا سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَٰبٍ لِّكُلِّ بَابٍ مِّنْهُمْ جُزْءٌ مَّقْسُومٌ
15:44
It has seven gates, for each of those gates is a class assigned. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:45
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
15:45
Truly, those who have Taqwa, will dwell in Gardens and water springs. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:46
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ
15:46
(It will be said to them): "Enter it in peace and security." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:47
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
15:47
And We shall remove any deep feeling of bitterness from their breasts. (So they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:48
لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ
15:48
No sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they be asked to leave it. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:49
۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَادِىٓ أَنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
15:49
Declare to My servants that I am truly the Forgiving, the Most Merciful. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:50
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِى هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ
15:50
And that My torment is indeed the most painful torment. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:51
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
15:51
And tell them about the guests (i.e., the angels) of Ibrahim. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:52
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ
15:52
When they entered upon him, and said: "Salaman (peace!)." He said: "Indeed we are frightened of you." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:53
قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
15:53
They said: "Do not be afraid! We bring you the good news of a boy possessing much knowledge and wisdom." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:54
قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
15:54
He said: "Do you give me this good news while old age has overtaken me Of what then is your news about" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:55
قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَـٰنِطِينَ
15:55
They said: "We give you good news in truth. So do not be of those who despair." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:56
قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
15:56
He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except those who are astray" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:57
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
15:57
He said: "What then is the business for which you have come, O messengers" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:58
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
15:58
They said: "We have been sent to a guilty people." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:59
إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
15:59
"(All) except the family of Lut, all of whom we are to save (from the destruction)." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:60
إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَآ ۙ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
15:60
"Except for his wife, of whom We have decreed that she shall be of those who remain behind." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:61
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
15:61
Then when the messengers (the angels) came to the family of Lut - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:62
قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
15:62
He (Lut) said: "Verily, you are people unknown to me." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:63
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَـٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
15:63
They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:64
وَأَتَيْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
15:64
"And we have brought you the truth and certainly we tell the truth." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:65
فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَـٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ
15:65
"Then travel for a portion of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:66
وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعٌ مُّصْبِحِينَ
15:66
And We made this decree known to him that those (sinners) would be rooted out in the early morning. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:67
وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
15:67
And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:68
قَالَ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِى فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ
15:68
[Lut] said: "Verily, these are my guests, so do not shame me." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:69
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ
15:69
"And have Taqwa of Allah, and do not disgrace me." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:70
قَالُوٓا۟ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
15:70
They said: "Did we not forbid you from entertaining any of the `Alamin" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:71
قَالَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِىٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَـٰعِلِينَ
15:71
[Lut] said: "These are my daughters, if you must act (so)." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:72
لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِى سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
15:72
Verily, by your life, in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:73
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ
15:73
So the Sayhah overtook them at the time of sunrise. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:74
فَجَعَلْنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
15:74
And We turned them upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:75
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
15:75
Surely, in this are signs for those who see. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:76
وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٍ مُّقِيمٍ
15:76
And verily, they were right on the highroad. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:77
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
15:77
Surely, there is indeed a sign in that for the believers. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:78
وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَـٰلِمِينَ
15:78
And the Dwellers of Al-Aykah, were also wrongdoers. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:79
فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ
15:79
So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open route, plain to see. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:80
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
15:80
And verily, the Dwellers of Al-Hijr denied the Messengers. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:81
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
15:81
And We gave them Our signs, but they were averse to them. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:82
وَكَانُوا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ
15:82
And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains, (feeling) secure. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:83
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
15:83
But the Sayhah (torment - awful cry) overtook them in the early morning. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:84
فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
15:84
And all that they used to earn availed them not. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:85
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَـَٔاتِيَةٌ ۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ
15:85
And We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with the truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook their faults with gracious forgiveness. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:86
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّـٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
15:86
Verily, your Lord is the Knowing Creator. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:87
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِى وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَ
15:87
And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of the Mathani, and the Grand Qur'an. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:88
لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
15:88
Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have given to certain classes of them, nor grieve over them. And lower your wings to the believers. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:89
وَقُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
15:89
And say (O Muhammad): "I am indeed a plain warner." - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:90
كَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْمُقْتَسِمِينَ
15:90
As We have sent down on the Muqtasimin (conspiring confederates), - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:91
ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا۟ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عِضِينَ
15:91
Who have made the Qur'an into parts. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:92
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْـَٔلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
15:92
So, by your Lord, We shall certainly call all of them to account. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:93
عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
15:93
For all that they used to do. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:94
فَٱصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
15:94
Therefore openly proclaim what you have been commanded, and turn away from the idolators. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:95
إِنَّا كَفَيْنَـٰكَ ٱلْمُسْتَهْزِءِينَ
15:95
Truly, We will suffice you against the mockers, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:96
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۚ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
15:96
Who make another god along with Allah; but they will come to know. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:97
وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
15:97
Indeed, We know that your breast becomes tight because of what they say. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:98
فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
15:98
So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
15:99
وَٱعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ
15:99
And worship your Lord until the certainty (i.e. death) comes to you. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
