بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
26:1
طسٓمٓ
26:1
TaSeenMeem. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:2
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
26:2
Those are the verses of the clear Book. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:3
لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
26:3
Perhaps you consume yourself that they are not believers. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:4
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ
26:4
If We will, We can send down on them a sign from heaven before which their necks will remain humbled. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:5
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
26:5
A fresh remembrance has never come to them from the Merciful, except they turn away from it. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:6
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
26:6
So, they belied, but surely the tidings of that they mocked will come to them. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:7
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ
26:7
Have they not seen the earth, how many We caused to grow in it every generous kind? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:8
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:8
Surely, in this there is a sign yet most of them do not believe. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:9
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:9
Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:10
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
26:10
And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:11
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
26:11
the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:12
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
26:12
'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:13
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ
26:13
and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:14
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
26:14
They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:15
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
26:15
He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:16
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:16
go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:17
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:17
Send forth with us the Children of Israel' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:18
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
26:18
He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:19
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
26:19
Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:20
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
26:20
He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:21
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:21
I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:22
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:22
Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:23
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:23
Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:24
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
26:24
'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:25
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
26:25
'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:26
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:26
He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:27
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ
26:27
(Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:28
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
26:28
'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:29
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
26:29
'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:30
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ
26:30
'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:31
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:31
He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:32
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
26:32
He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
26:33
Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:34
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
26:34
'This', said he (Pharaoh) to his Council, 'is a cunning sorcerer - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:35
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
26:35
who seeks to expel you from your land by his sorcery. What is your counsel' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:36
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
26:36
They replied: 'Put him and his brother off for a while, and send heralds to your cities - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:37
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ
26:37
to bring every knowledgeable sorcerer' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:38
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
26:38
The sorcerers were gathered at the appointed time on a wellknown day, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:39
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
26:39
and the people were asked: 'Will you gather - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
26:40
in order that we shall follow the sorcerers if they are the victors' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:41
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
26:41
Then, when the sorcerers came to Pharaoh, they said: 'Shall we receive a wage if we win' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:42
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
26:42
'Yes, indeed' he answered, 'and you shall become among those who are near stationed' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:43
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
26:43
Moses said to them: 'Cast down what you cast' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:44
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
26:44
So they cast their ropes and staffs, saying: 'By Pharaoh's might, we shall be the victors' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:45
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
26:45
Then Moses cast down his staff and it swallowed up their lying invention, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:46
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ
26:46
so the sorcerers were cast down, prostrating themselves, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:47
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:47
saying: 'We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:48
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
26:48
the Lord of Moses and Aaron' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:49
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:49
He (Pharaoh) said: 'You have believed him before I have given you permission. He is the chief of you who has taught you sorcery. But you shall know. I will surely cut off on opposite sides a hand and a foot, and crucify you all.' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:50
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
26:50
'There is no harm' they replied, 'for surely to our Lord we are turning. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:51
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:51
We are eager that Our Lord should forgive us our offenses, for we are the first of the believers' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:52
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
26:52
Also, We revealed to Moses, saying: 'Go with My worshipers by night, for you will be followed' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:53
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
26:53
Then Pharaoh sent gatherers to the cities. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:54
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ
26:54
'These' they said, 'are a small band, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:55
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
26:55
they have enraged us, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:56
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ
26:56
and we are a host on our guard' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:57
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
26:57
As such We expelled them from their gardens and their fountains, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:58
وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
26:58
their treasures and a noble station. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:59
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:59
As such we gave it to the Children of Israel. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:60
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
26:60
At sunrise, they followed them. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:61
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
26:61
And when the two hosts came in view of each other, Moses' companions said: 'We have been reached' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:62
قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
26:62
'No, indeed' he replied, 'my Lord is with me and He will guide me' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:63
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
26:63
Then We revealed to Moses: 'Strike the sea with your staff', so it divided and each part was as a mighty mount. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:64
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:64
And there We brought the others on, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:65
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:65
and We saved Moses and those who were with him together, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:66
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:66
then, We drowned the others. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:67
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:67
Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:68
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:68
Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:69
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
26:69
And recite to them the news of Abraham. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:70
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
26:70
He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:71
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ
26:71
They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:72
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
26:72
'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:73
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
26:73
'Can they benefit you or harm you' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:74
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
26:74
They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:75
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
26:75
He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:76
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
26:76
you, and your elderly fathers? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:77
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:77
They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:78
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
26:78
who created me; and He guides me, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:79
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
26:79
and He gives me to eat and drink, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:80
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
26:80
who, when I am sick, heals me; - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:81
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
26:81
who makes me to die and then revives me, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:82
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
26:82
and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:83
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
26:83
My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:84
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ

وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ

يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ
26:88
The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
26:89
except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
26:90
and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
26:91
And Hell is brought near to the perverse' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
26:92
It will be said to them: 'Where is that you worshipped, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:93
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
26:93
other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:94
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
26:94
And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
26:95
and the hosts of iblis all together. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
26:96
And they will say while they dispute with one another, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
26:97
'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:98
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:98
when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:99
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
26:99
It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ
26:100
We have no intercessors now, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ

no caring friend. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:102
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:102
Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:103
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:106
when Noah, their brother, said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:107
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:107
I am for you an honest Messenger, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:108
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:108
so fear Allah, and obey me. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:109
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:109
For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:110
So fear Allah and obey me' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
26:111
They replied: 'Are we to believe you whom the lowliest follow' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
26:112
He said: 'I have no knowledge of what they have done. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
26:113
Their account falls only upon My Lord, if you were but aware. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:114
I will not drive away the believers. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
26:115
I am only a clear warner' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
26:116
'Noah' they replied, 'if you do not desist you shall be of those stoned' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
26:117
He said: 'My Lord, my nation have belied me. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:118
So open between me and them an opening, and save me and the believers who are with me' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:119
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
26:119
We saved him and those who were with him in the laden ship, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:120
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
26:120
afterwards, We drowned the rest. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:121

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

When their brother Hood said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:125
I am for you an honest Messenger. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:126
Fear Allah and obey me. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ

وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ

And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
26:130
When you assault, you assault like tyrants. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:131
So fear Allah, and obey me. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
26:132
Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ
26:133
He has given you flocks and sons, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:134
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
26:134
gardens and fountains. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:135
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:135
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:136
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
26:136
They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:137
إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:137
That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
26:138
and we shall never be punished' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:139
So they belied him, so We destroyed them. Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:142
Their brother Salih said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:143
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:143
I am for you an honest Messenger. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:144
So fear Allah, and obey me. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ

فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
26:147
amidst gardens and fountains, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ
26:148
sown fields and palmtrees, with slender spathes. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:149
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ
26:149
Will you still hew your dwellings in the mountains? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:150
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:150
So fear Allah and obey me. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
26:151
Do not obey the order of the wasteful, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
26:152
who corrupt in the earth, and do not reform' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:153
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:153
They replied: 'Surely, you are one of those bewitched. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

You are but a human like ourselves. Produce for us a sign, if you are of the truthful' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

He said: 'Here is a shecamel. She shall have her share of water as you have yours on an appointed day. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:156
Do not touch her with malice so that punishment of a dreadful day seizes you' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ
26:157
Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

and the punishment seized them. Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

What, do you come to the males of the world, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
26:166
and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:167
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
26:167
'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:168
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
26:168
He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
26:169
'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:170
So We saved him and all his people, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:171
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
26:171
except an old woman who stayed behind, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:172
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:172
then We destroyed the others. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:173
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
26:173
We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:174
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:178
I am for you an honest Messenger. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ

وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ

وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:184
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:184
Fear He who created you, and the generations of the ancient' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:185
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:185
They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:186
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ

26:187
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:188
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
26:188
He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:189
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:189
But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ

The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
26:194
upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:195
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ
26:195
in a clear, Arabic tongue. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:196
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:196
Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:198
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
26:198
If We had revealed it to a nonArab, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:199
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
26:199
and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:200
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
26:200
Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:201
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
26:201
they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:202
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
26:202
so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:203
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
26:203
and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:204
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
26:204
Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:205
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
26:205
What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:206
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
26:206
and then what they were promised comes to them, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:207
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
26:207
what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:208
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
26:208
We never destroyed a village that did not have warners - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:209
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
26:209
for a reminder, and We never harmed. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:210
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
26:210
It was not the satans who brought it down: - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:211
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
26:211
it is not for them, nor are they able. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:212
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
26:212
Truly, they are expelled from hearing. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:213
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
26:213
So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)

وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
26:214
Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:215
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:215
and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:216
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
26:216
If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:217
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
26:217
Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:218
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
26:218
who sees you when you stand - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:219
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
26:219
and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:220
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
26:220
Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:221
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
26:221
Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:222
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ
26:222
They descend on every guilty impostor. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:223
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ
26:223
They listen, but most of them are liars. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:224
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
26:224
Poets are followed by the perverse. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:225
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ
26:225
Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:226
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
26:226
and they say what they do not do? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
26:227
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ
26:227
Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
