بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
85:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ
85:1
By the heavens with constellations, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ
85:2
by the promised day, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:3
وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
85:3
and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:4
قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ
85:4
may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ
85:5
by a burning fire - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:6
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
85:6
while they themselves sat around it - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:7
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
85:7
witnessing what they were doing. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:8
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
85:8
The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:9
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
85:9
and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
85:10
Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
85:11
As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:12
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
85:12
The vengeance of God is terribly severe. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:13
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
85:13
It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:14
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ
85:14
He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:15
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ
85:15
the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:16
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
85:16
and the Most Effective in His decision. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:17
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ
85:17
Have you not heard about the stories of the armies - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:18
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
85:18
of the Pharaoh and Thamud? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:19
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ
85:19
In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:20
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ
85:20
However, God encompassed their activities. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
85:21
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ
85:21
What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ
85:22
that exists in a well-guarded tablet. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
