بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
87:1
سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى
87:1
GLORIFY THE NAME of your Lord, most high, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:2
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
87:2
Who creates and proportions, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:3
وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
87:3
Who determines and directs, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:4
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ
87:4
Who brings out the pastures - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:5
فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ
87:5
Then reduces them to rusty rubbish. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:6
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ
87:6
We shall make you recite (the Qur'an) so that you will not forget it, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:7
إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ
87:7
Unless God may please. He knows the visible and knows what is hidden. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:8
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
87:8
We shall take you slowly towards ease. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:9
فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ
87:9
So remind them if reminder is profitable: - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:10
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ
87:10
Those who fear will understand. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:11
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى
87:11
Only the wretch will turn aside, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:12
ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
87:12
Who will burn in the terrible Fire, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:13
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ
87:13
In which he will neither die nor live. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:14
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
87:14
Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:15
وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
87:15
And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:16
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
87:16
But no, you prefer the life of the world, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:17
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ
87:17
Though the life to come is better and abiding. - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:18
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ
87:18
This is surely in the earlier Books, - Ahmed Ali (English)
87:19
صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
87:19
