بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
87:1
سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى
87:1
Celebrate the Name of your Lord, the Most Exalted, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:2
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
87:2
who created and proportioned, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:3
وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
87:3
who determined and guided, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:4
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ
87:4
who brought forth the pasture - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:5
فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ
87:5
and then turned it into a black scum. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:6
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ
87:6
We shall have you recite [the Quran], then you will not forget [any of it] - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:7
إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ
87:7
except what Allah may wish. Indeed, He knows the open and what is hidden. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:8
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
87:8
And We shall ease you into facility. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:9
فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ
87:9
So admonish, for admonition is indeed beneficial: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:10
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ
87:10
he who fears [God] will take admonition, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:11
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى
87:11
and the most wretched will shun it - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:12
ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
87:12
—he who will enter the Great Fire, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:13
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ
87:13
then he will neither live in it, nor die. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:14
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
87:14
‘Felicitous is he who purifies himself, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:15
وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
87:15
celebrates the Name of his Lord, and prays. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:16
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
87:16
But you prefer the life of this world, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:17
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ
87:17
while the Hereafter is better and more lasting.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:18
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ
87:18
This is indeed in the former scriptures, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
87:19
صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
87:19
the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
