بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
83:1
وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ
83:1
Woe to those who give less [than due], - Saheeh International (English)
83:2
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ
83:2
Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. - Saheeh International (English)
83:3
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ
83:3
But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. - Saheeh International (English)
83:4
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ
83:4
Do they not think that they will be resurrected - Saheeh International (English)
83:5
لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
83:5
For a tremendous Day - - Saheeh International (English)
83:6
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
83:6
The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? - Saheeh International (English)
83:7
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍ
83:7
No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. - Saheeh International (English)
83:8
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ
83:8
And what can make you know what is sijjeen? - Saheeh International (English)
83:9
كِتَـٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ
83:9
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. - Saheeh International (English)
83:10
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
83:10
Woe, that Day, to the deniers, - Saheeh International (English)
83:11
ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
83:11
Who deny the Day of Recompense. - Saheeh International (English)
83:12
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ
83:12
And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. - Saheeh International (English)
83:13
إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَـٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
83:13
When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." - Saheeh International (English)
83:14
كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
83:14
No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. - Saheeh International (English)
83:15
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ
83:15
No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. - Saheeh International (English)
83:16
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
83:16
Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. - Saheeh International (English)
83:17
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
83:17
Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." - Saheeh International (English)
83:18
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ
83:18
No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. - Saheeh International (English)
83:19
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ
83:19
And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? - Saheeh International (English)
83:20
كِتَـٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ
83:20
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed - Saheeh International (English)
83:21
يَشْهَدُهُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ
83:21
Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. - Saheeh International (English)
83:22
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ
83:22
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure - Saheeh International (English)
83:23
عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
83:23
On adorned couches, observing. - Saheeh International (English)
83:24
تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
83:24
You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. - Saheeh International (English)
83:25
يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ
83:25
They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. - Saheeh International (English)
83:26
خِتَـٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَـٰفِسُونَ
83:26
The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. - Saheeh International (English)
83:27
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ
83:27
And its mixture is of Tasneem, - Saheeh International (English)
83:28
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ
83:28
A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. - Saheeh International (English)
83:29
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ
83:29
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. - Saheeh International (English)
83:30
وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ
83:30
And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. - Saheeh International (English)
83:31
وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ
83:31
And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. - Saheeh International (English)
83:32
وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ
83:32
And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." - Saheeh International (English)
83:33
وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَـٰفِظِينَ
83:33
But they had not been sent as guardians over them. - Saheeh International (English)
83:34
فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ
83:34
So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, - Saheeh International (English)
83:35
عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
83:35
On adorned couches, observing. - Saheeh International (English)
83:36
هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ
83:36
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? - Saheeh International (English)
