بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
84:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
84:1
When the sky bursts open, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:2
and obeys its Lord as it must, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
84:3
when the earth flattens out, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:4
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
84:4
and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:5
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:5
and obeys its Lord as it must, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ
84:6
O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:7
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
84:7
he who is given his record in his right hand - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:8
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
84:8
shall have an easy reckoning - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:9
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:9
and he shall return to his people, joyfully, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:10
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ
84:10
but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:11
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا
84:11
he will pray for utter destruction - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:12
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
84:12
and he will enter the blazing flame. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:13
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:13
He used to be happy with his own people; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:14
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
84:14
for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:15
بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا
84:15
But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:16
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
84:16
I swear by the glow of sunset, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
84:17
by the night and what it covers, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:18
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
84:18
and the moon when it grows full, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:19
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
84:19
you will progress from stage to stage. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:20
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
84:20
What is wrong with them that they do not believe? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
84:21
When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ
84:22
Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
84:23
God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:24
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
84:24
Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
84:25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ
84:25
But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
