بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
84:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
84:1
When the heaven breaks apart. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:2
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:2
And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
84:3
And when the earth is spread out. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:4
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
84:4
And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:5
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:5
And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ
84:6
O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:7
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
84:7
So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:8
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
84:8
Soon an easy account will be taken from him. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:9
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:9
And he will return to his family rejoicing. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:10
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ
84:10
And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:11
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا
84:11
Soon he will pray for death. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:12
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
84:12
And will go into the blazing fire. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:13
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:13
Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:14
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
84:14
He assumed that he does not have to return. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:15
بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا
84:15
Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:16
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
84:16
So by oath of the late evening’s light. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
84:17
And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:18
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
84:18
And by oath of the moon when it is full. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:19
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
84:19
You will surely go up level by level. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:20
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
84:20
What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
84:21
And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ
84:22
In fact the disbelievers keep denying. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
84:23
And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:24
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
84:24
Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
84:25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ
84:25
Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
