بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
84:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
84:1
When the sky is torn apart, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:2
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:2
hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
84:3
when the earth is stretched out - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:4
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
84:4
and casts out all that is within and voids itself, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:5
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:5
obeying its Lord, as it must do! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ
84:6
O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:7
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
84:7
Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:8
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
84:8
shall have an easy reckoning - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:9
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:9
and will return rejoicing to his family. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:10
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ
84:10
But he who is given his Book from behind his back - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:11
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا
84:11
shall call for destruction - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:12
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
84:12
and roast at the Blaze. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:13
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:13
Once, he lived joyfully among his family - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:14
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
84:14
and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:15
بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا
84:15
Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:16
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
84:16
I swear by the twilight; - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
84:17
by the night and all that it envelops; - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:18
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
84:18
by the moon, in its fullness - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:19
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
84:19
that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:20
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
84:20
What is the matter with them, that they do not believe - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
84:21
and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ
84:22
No, the unbelievers only belie, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
84:23
and Allah knows very well what they gather. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:24
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
84:24
Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
84:25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ
84:25
except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
