بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
84:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
84:1
When the heaven is sundered. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:2
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:2
And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
84:3
And when the earth shall be stretched forth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:4
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
84:4
And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:5
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:5
And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ
84:6
O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:7
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
84:7
Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand - - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:8
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
84:8
His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:9
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:9
And he shall return Unto his people joyfully. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:10
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ
84:10
And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back- - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:11
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا
84:11
He shall presently call for death, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:12
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
84:12
And he shall roast into a Blaze. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:13
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:13
Verily he was among his people joyous. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:14
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
84:14
Verily he imagined that he would not be back. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:15
بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا
84:15
Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:16
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
84:16
I swear by the afterglow of sunset, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
84:17
And by the night and that which it driveth together, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:18
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
84:18
And by the moon when she becometh full. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:19
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
84:19
Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:20
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
84:20
What aileth them then, that they believe not, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
84:21
And that, when the Qur'an is read Unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ
84:22
Yea those who disbelieve belie. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
84:23
Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:24
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
84:24
Wherefore announce thou Unto them a torment afflictive. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
84:25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ
84:25
But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
