Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
86:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
86:1
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:2
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
86:2
and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:3
ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
86:3
It is the shining star -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:4
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
86:4
[for] no human being has been left unguarded. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:5
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
86:5
Let man reflect on what he was created from. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:6
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
86:6
He was created from spurting fluid, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:7
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
86:7
issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:8
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
86:8
He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:9
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
86:9
On the Day when secrets are disclosed, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:10
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
86:10
[man] will have no power, and no helper. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:11
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
86:11
By the heavens, ever-revolving, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:12
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
86:12
by the earth cracking open with new growth. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:13
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
86:13
It is surely a decisive utterance; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:14
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
86:14
and is not to be taken lightly. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:15
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
86:15
They are planning a scheme, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:16
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
86:16
and so am I: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
86:17
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
86:17
so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
