بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
86:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
86:1
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
86:2
And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
86:3

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
86:4
There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:5
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
86:5
So man must consider from what he has been created. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:6
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
86:6
Created from a gushing fluid. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:7
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
86:7
That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
86:8
Indeed Allah is Able to return him. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:9
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
86:9
A day when the secrets will be examined. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:10
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
86:10
So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:11
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
86:11
By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:12
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
86:12
And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:13
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
86:13
Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
86:14
And is not a matter of amusement. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:15
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
86:15
Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:16
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
86:16
And I secretly plan. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
86:17
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
86:17
Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
