بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
86:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
86:1
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:2
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
86:2
How will you comprehend what the night star is? - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:3
ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
86:3
It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:4
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
86:4
That over each soul there is a guardian. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:5
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
86:5
Let man consider what he was made of: - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:6
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
86:6
He was created of spurting water - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:7
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
86:7
Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:8
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
86:8
God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:9
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
86:9
The day all secrets are examined - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:10
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
86:10
He will have no strength or helper. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:11
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
86:11
So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:12
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
86:12
And the earth which opens up (with verdure), - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:13
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
86:13
That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:14
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
86:14
And no trifle. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:15
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
86:15
They are hatching up a plot, - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:16
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
86:16
But I too am devising a plan. - Ahmed Ali (English)
86:17
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
86:17
So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. - Ahmed Ali (English)
