Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
101:1
ٱلْقَارِعَةُ
101:1

مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ

How will you comprehend what the startling calamity is? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)

يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ
101:4
A Day on which human beings would be like so many scattered moths, - Ahmed Ali (English)

وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ
101:5
The mountains like the tufts of carded wool. - Ahmed Ali (English)

فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
101:6
Then he whose deeds shall weigh heavier in the scale - Ahmed Ali (English)

فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ
101:7
Will have a tranquil life; - Ahmed Ali (English)

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
101:8
But he whose deeds are lighter in the balance - Ahmed Ali (English)

فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ
101:9
Will have the Abyss for abode. - Ahmed Ali (English)

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ
