بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
51:1
وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ ذَرْوًا
51:1
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:2
فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقْرًا
51:2
Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:3
فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسْرًا
51:3
Then those (ships) that glide easily, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:4
فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمْرًا
51:4
Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:5
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ
51:5
What you are threatened with is most surely true, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:6
وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
51:6
And the judgment must most surely come about. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ
51:7
I swear by the heaven full of ways. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:8
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ
51:8
Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:9
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ
51:9
He is turned away from it who would be turned away. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:10
قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ
51:10
Cursed be the liars, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:11
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ
51:11
Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:12
يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
51:12
They ask: When is the day of judgment? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:13
يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ
51:13
(It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:14
ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
51:14
Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:15
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
51:15
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:16
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
51:16
Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:17
كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
51:17
They used to sleep but little in the night. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:18
وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
51:18
And in the morning they asked forgiveness. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:19
وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ
51:19
And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:20
وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ
51:20
And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:21
وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
51:21
And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:22
وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
51:22
And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:23
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ
51:23
And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:24
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ
51:24
Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:25
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
51:25
When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:26
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ
51:26
Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:27
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
51:27
So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:28
فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
51:28
So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:29
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ
51:29
Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:30
قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
51:30
They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:31
۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
51:31
He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:32
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
51:32
They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:33
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ
51:33
That we may send down upon them stone of clay, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:34
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
51:34
Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:35
فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:35
Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:36
فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
51:36
But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:37
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
51:37
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:38
وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
51:38
And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:39
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:39
But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:40
فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
51:40
So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:41
وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ
51:41
And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:42
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
51:42
It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:43
وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
51:43
And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:44
فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
51:44
But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:45
فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ
51:45
So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:46
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ
51:46
And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:47
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
51:47
And the heaven, We raised it high with power, and most surely We are the makers of things ample. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:48
وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَـٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ
51:48
And the earth, We have made it a wide extent; how well have We then spread (it) out. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:49
وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
51:49
And of everything We have created pairs that you may be mindful. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:50
فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
51:50
Therefore fly to Allah, surely I am a plain warner to you from Him. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:51
وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
51:51
And do not set up with Allah another god: surely I am a plain warner to you from Him. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:52
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:52
Thus there did not come to those before them an apostle but they said: A magician or a mad man. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:53
أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
51:53
Have they charged each other with this? Nay! they are an inordinate people. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:54
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ
51:54
Then turn your back upon them for you are not to blame; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:55
وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:55
And continue to remind, for surely the reminder profits the believers. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:56
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
51:56
And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve Me. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:57
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ
51:57
I do not desire from them any sustenance and I do not desire that they should feed Me. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:58
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ
51:58
Surely Allah is the Bestower of sustenance, the Lord of Power, the Strong. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:59
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
51:59
So surely those who are unjust shall have a portion like the portion of their companions, therefore let them not ask Me to hasten on. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
51:60
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ
51:60
Therefore woe to those who disbelieve because of their day which they are threatened with. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
