بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
51:1
وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ ذَرْوًا
51:1
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:2
فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقْرًا
51:2
And those who bear the load (of rain), - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:3
فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسْرًا
51:3
And those who move (on the water) gently, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:4
فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمْرًا
51:4
And those who distribute (it) by command, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:5
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ
51:5
Verily the promise made to you is true: - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:6
وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
51:6
The Judgement will indeed take place. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ
51:7
The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:8
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ
51:8
You are surely caught in contradictions., - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:9
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ
51:9
From which only he turns who is turned away. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:10
قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ
51:10
Perish will those who just guess and speculate, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:11
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ
51:11
Who are lost in deception. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:12
يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
51:12
They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:13
يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ
51:13
The day they will be burnt in the Fire, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:14
ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
51:14
(And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:15
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
51:15
Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:16
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
51:16
Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:17
كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
51:17
They slept little in the night, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:18
وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
51:18
And every morning asked forgiveness, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:19
وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ
51:19
In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:20
وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ
51:20
There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:21
وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
51:21
And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:22
وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
51:22
There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:23
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ
51:23
By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:24
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ
51:24
Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:25
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
51:25
When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:26
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ
51:26
So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:27
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
51:27
And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:28
فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
51:28
He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:29
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ
51:29
His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:30
قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
51:30
They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:31
۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
51:31
He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:32
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
51:32
They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:33
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ
51:33
So as to let loose clods of clay on them - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:34
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
51:34
Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:35
فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:35
So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:36
فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
51:36
But did not find more than a single family of believers. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:37
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
51:37
We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:38
وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
51:38
As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:39
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:39
But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:40
فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
51:40
So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:41
وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ
51:41
In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:42
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
51:42
Which turned everything it touched to ashes. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:43
وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
51:43
And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:44
فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
51:44
But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:45
فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ
51:45
And neither stand up nor defend themselves. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:46
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ
51:46
(So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:47
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
51:47
We built the heavens by Our authority; and We are the Lord of power and expanse. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:48
وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَـٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ
51:48
We spread the earth a carpet; what comfort We provide! - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:49
وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
51:49
And We created pairs of everything that you may contemplate. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:50
فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
51:50
So turn to God. I give you a clear warning from Him. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:51
وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
51:51
Do not set up another god with God. I give you a clear warning from Him. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:52
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:52
Even thus no apostle came to those before them but they said: "He is a sorcerer or a mad man." - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:53
أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
51:53
Is this the legacy they have passed down from one to the other? In fact, they are a rebellious people. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:54
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ
51:54
Turn away from them. You will not be blamed. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:55
وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:55
But go on reminding them, as reminding benefits the believers. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:56
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
51:56
I have not created the jinns and men but to worship Me. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:57
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ
51:57
I want no sustenance from them nor do I want them to feed Me. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:58
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ
51:58
God is certainly the great provider, Lord of strength and power. - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:59
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
51:59
Those who do wrong will indeed come to the same end as their fellows (of old). So let them not ask Me to hasten (the punishment). - Ahmed Ali (English)
51:60
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ
51:60
Alas the woe for those who refuse to believe in the Day which has been promised them. - Ahmed Ali (English)
