بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
51:1
وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ ذَرْوًا
51:1
By the spreaders spreading. - Talal Itani (English)
51:2
فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقْرًا
51:2
And those carrying loads. - Talal Itani (English)
51:3
فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسْرًا
51:3
And those moving gently. - Talal Itani (English)
51:4
فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمْرًا
51:4
And those distributing as commanded. - Talal Itani (English)
51:5
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ
51:5
What you are promised is true. - Talal Itani (English)
51:6
وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
51:6
Judgment will take place. - Talal Itani (English)
51:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ
51:7
By the sky that is woven. - Talal Itani (English)
51:8
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ
51:8
You differ in what you say. - Talal Itani (English)
51:9
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ
51:9
Averted from it is he who is averted. - Talal Itani (English)
51:10
قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ
51:10
Perish the imposters. - Talal Itani (English)
51:11
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ
51:11
Those who are dazed in ignorance. - Talal Itani (English)
51:12
يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
51:12
They ask, “When is the Day of Judgment?” - Talal Itani (English)
51:13
يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ
51:13
The Day they are presented to the Fire. - Talal Itani (English)
51:14
ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
51:14
“Taste your ordeal. This is what you used to challenge.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:15
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
51:15
But the pious are amidst gardens and springs. - Talal Itani (English)
51:16
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
51:16
Receiving what their Lord has given them. They were virtuous before that. - Talal Itani (English)
51:17
كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
51:17
They used to sleep a little at night. - Talal Itani (English)
51:18
وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
51:18
And at dawn, they would pray for pardon. - Talal Itani (English)
51:19
وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ
51:19
And in their wealth, there was a share for the beggar and the deprived. - Talal Itani (English)
51:20
وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ
51:20
And on earth are signs for the convinced. - Talal Itani (English)
51:21
وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
51:21
And within yourselves. Do you not see? - Talal Itani (English)
51:22
وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
51:22
And in the heaven is your livelihood, and what you are promised. - Talal Itani (English)
51:23
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ
51:23
By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is as true as the fact that you speak. - Talal Itani (English)
51:24
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ
51:24
Has the story of Abraham’s honorable guests reached you? - Talal Itani (English)
51:25
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
51:25
When they entered upon him, they said, “Peace.” He said, “Peace, strangers.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:26
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ
51:26
Then he slipped away to his family, and brought a fatted calf. - Talal Itani (English)
51:27
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
51:27
He set it before them. He said, “Will you not eat?” - Talal Itani (English)
51:28
فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
51:28
And he harbored fear of them. They said, “Do not fear,” and they announced to him the good news of a knowledgeable boy. - Talal Itani (English)
51:29
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ
51:29
His wife came forward crying. She clasped her face, and said, “A barren old woman?” - Talal Itani (English)
51:30
قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
51:30
They said, “Thus spoke your Lord. He is the Wise, the Knowing.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:31
۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
51:31
He said, “What is your business, O envoys?” - Talal Itani (English)
51:32
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
51:32
They said, “We are sent to a people guilty of sin.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:33
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ
51:33
“To unleash upon them rocks of clay.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:34
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
51:34
“Marked by your Lord for the excessive.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:35
فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:35
We evacuated all the believers who were in it. - Talal Itani (English)
51:36
فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
51:36
But found in it only one household of Muslims. - Talal Itani (English)
51:37
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
51:37
And We left in it a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. - Talal Itani (English)
51:38
وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
51:38
And in Moses. We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear authority. - Talal Itani (English)
51:39
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:39
But he turned away with his warlords, and said, “A sorcerer or a madman.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:40
فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
51:40
So We seized him and his troops, and threw them into the sea, and He was to blame. - Talal Itani (English)
51:41
وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ
51:41
And in Aad. We unleashed against them the devastating wind. - Talal Itani (English)
51:42
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
51:42
It spared nothing it came upon, but rendered it like decayed ruins. - Talal Itani (English)
51:43
وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
51:43
And in Thamood. They were told, “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:44
فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
51:44
But they defied the command of their Lord, so the lightning struck them as they looked on. - Talal Itani (English)
51:45
فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ
51:45
They could not rise up, nor could they find help. - Talal Itani (English)
51:46
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ
51:46
And before that, the people of Noah. They were immoral people. - Talal Itani (English)
51:47
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
51:47
We constructed the universe with power, and We are expanding it. - Talal Itani (English)
51:48
وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَـٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ
51:48
And the earth—We spread it out—How well We prepared it! - Talal Itani (English)
51:49
وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
51:49
We created all things in pairs, so that you may reflect and ponder. - Talal Itani (English)
51:50
فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
51:50
“So flee towards God. I am to you from Him a clear warner.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:51
وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
51:51
“And do not set up any other god with God. I am to you from Him a clear warner.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:52
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:52
Likewise, no messenger came to those before them, but they said, “A sorcerer or a madman.” - Talal Itani (English)
51:53
أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
51:53
Did they recommend it to one another? In fact, they are rebellious people. - Talal Itani (English)
51:54
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ
51:54
So turn away from them; you are not to blame. - Talal Itani (English)
51:55
وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:55
And remind, for the reminder benefits the believers. - Talal Itani (English)
51:56
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
51:56
I did not create the jinn and the humans except to worship Me. - Talal Itani (English)
51:57
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ
51:57
I need no livelihood from them, nor do I need them to feed Me. - Talal Itani (English)
51:58
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ
51:58
God is the Provider, the One with Power, the Strong. - Talal Itani (English)
51:59
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
51:59
Those who do wrong will have their turn, like the turn of their counterparts, so let them not rush Me. - Talal Itani (English)
51:60
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ
51:60
So woe to those who disbelieve because of that Day of theirs which they are promised. - Talal Itani (English)
