بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
52:1
وَٱلطُّورِ
52:1

وَكِتَـٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ
52:2
By the book inscribed. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:3
فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ
52:3
In parchment unrolled. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:4
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ
52:4
By the House Frequented. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:5
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
52:5
By the roof elevated. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:6
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
52:6
By the sea overflowing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:7
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
52:7
Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:8
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ
52:8
Of it there is no averter. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:9
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا
52:9
On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:10
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
52:10
And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:11
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
52:11
Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:12
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ
52:12
Those who in wading sport themselves. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:13
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
52:13
On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:14
هَـٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
52:14
This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:15
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
52:15
Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:16
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:16
Roast therein; endure it or endure it not, thereof it is equal Unto you. Ye are only being requited for that which ye have been working. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:17
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ
52:17
Verily the God-fearing will bein Gardens and Delight. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:18
فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
52:18
Rejoicing in that which their Lord hath vouchsafed Unto them; and their Lord will protect them from the torment of the Flame. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:19
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:19
Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:20
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
52:20
Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:21
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَـٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ
52:21
And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in belief. We shall cause their progeny to join them, and We shall not diminish Unto them aught of their own work. Every man is for that which he hath earned a pledge. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:22
وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم بِفَـٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
52:22
And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:23
يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ
52:23
They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:24
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
52:24
And there will go round on them youths appointed to attend them as though they were pearls hidden. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:25
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
52:25
And they will advance Unto each other asking questions. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:26
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
52:26
They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:27
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
52:27
Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:28
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
52:28
Verily we were wont to pray Unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful.' - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:29
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
52:29
Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:30
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ
52:30
Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:31
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
52:31
Say thou: waits verily I am, with you, among the waiters. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:32
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
52:32
Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:33
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
52:33
Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:34
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ
52:34
Let them bring a discourse like thereUnto, if they say sooth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:35
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ
52:35
Have they not been created by aught, or are they the creators? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:36
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
52:36
Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:37
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ
52:37
Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:38
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
52:38
Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:39
أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
52:39
Hath He daughters and ye sons? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:40
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ
52:40
Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:41
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
52:41
Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:42
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ
52:42
Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:43
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
52:43
Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:44
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ
52:44
And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:45
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
52:45
Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:46
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
52:46
A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:47
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
52:47
And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:48
وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
52:48
And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
52:49
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَـٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
52:49
And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
