بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
52:1
وَٱلطُّورِ
52:1
By the Mount [Sinai], - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:2
وَكِتَـٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ
52:2
by the Book inscribed - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:3
فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ
52:3
on an unrolled parchment; - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:4
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ
52:4
by the House greatly frequented; - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:5
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
52:5
by the vault raised high, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:6
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
52:6
by the surging sea: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:7
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
52:7
indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely befall. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:8
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ
52:8
There is none who can avert it. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:9
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا
52:9
On the day when the sky whirls violently, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:10
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
52:10
and the mountains move with an awful motion: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:11
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
52:11
woe to the deniers on that day - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:12
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ
52:12
—those who play around in vain talk, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:13
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
52:13
the day when they will be shoved forcibly toward the fire of hell, [and told:] - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:14
هَـٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
52:14
‘This is the Fire which you used to deny! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:15
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
52:15
Is this, then, [also] magic, or is it you who do not perceive? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:16
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:16
Enter it, and it will be the same for you whether you are patient or impatient. You are only being requited for what you used to do.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:17
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ
52:17
Indeed the Godwary will be amid gardens and bliss, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:18
فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
52:18
rejoicing because of what their Lord has given them, and that their Lord has saved them from the punishment of hell. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:19
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:19
[They will be told:] ‘Enjoy your food and drink, [as a reward] for what you used to do.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:20
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
52:20
They will be reclining on arrayed couches, and We will wed them to big-eyed houris. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:21
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَـٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ
52:21
The faithful and their descendants who followed them in faith—We will make their descendants join them, and We will not stint anything from [the reward of] their deeds. Every person is hostage to what he has earned. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:22
وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم بِفَـٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
52:22
We will provide them with fruits and meat, such as they desire. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:23
يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ
52:23
There they will pass from hand to hand a cup wherein there will be neither any vain talk nor sinful speech. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:24
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
52:24
They will be waited upon by their youths, as if they were guarded pearls. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:25
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
52:25
They will turn to one another, questioning each other. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:26
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
52:26
They will say, ‘Indeed, aforetime, we used to be apprehensive about our families. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:27
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
52:27
But Allah showed us favour and He saved us from the punishment of the [infernal] miasma. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:28
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
52:28
We used to supplicate Him aforetime. Indeed He is the All-benign, the All-merciful.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:29
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
52:29
So admonish. By your Lord’s blessing, you are not a soothsayer, nor mad. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:30
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ
52:30
Do they say, ‘[He is] a poet, for whom we await a fatal accident’? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:31
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
52:31
Say, ‘Wait! I too am waiting along with you.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:32
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
52:32
Is it their intellect which prompts them to [say] this, or are they a rebellious lot? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:33
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
52:33
Do they say, ‘He has improvised it [himself]?’ Rather, they have no faith! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:34
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ
52:34
Let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:35
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ
52:35
Were they created from nothing? Or are they [their own] creators? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:36
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
52:36
Did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they have no certainty! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:37
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ
52:37
Do they possess the treasuries of your Lord? Or do they control [them]? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:38
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
52:38
Do they have a ladder [leading up to heaven] whereby they eavesdrop? If so, let their eavesdropper produce a manifest authority. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:39
أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
52:39
Does He have daughters while you have sons? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:40
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ
52:40
Do you ask them for a reward, so that they are [wary of] being weighed down with debt? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:41
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
52:41
Do they have [access to] the Unseen, which they write down? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:42
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ
52:42
Do they seek to outmaneuver [Allah]? But it is the faithless who are the outmaneuvered ones! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:43
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
52:43
Do they have any god other than Allah? Clear is Allah of any partners that they may ascribe [to Him]! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:44
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ
52:44
Were they to see a fragment falling from the sky, they would say, ‘A cumulous cloud.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:45
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
52:45
So leave them until they encounter the day when they will be thunderstruck, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:46
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
52:46
the day when their guile will not avail them in any way, nor will they be helped. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:47
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
52:47
Indeed there is a punishment besides that for those who do wrong, but most of them do not know. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:48
وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
52:48
So submit patiently to the judgement of your Lord, for indeed you fare before Our eyes. And celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise [at dawn], - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
52:49
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَـٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
52:49
and also glorify Him during the night and at the receding of the stars. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
