Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
69:1
ٱلْحَآقَّةُ
69:1
The Reality. - Talal Itani (English)

مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ
69:2
What is the Reality? - Talal Itani (English)
69:3
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ
69:3
What will make you understand what the Reality is? - Talal Itani (English)
69:4
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌۢ بِٱلْقَارِعَةِ
69:4
Thamood and Aad denied the Catastrophe. - Talal Itani (English)
69:5
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
69:5
As for Thamood, they were annihilated by the Overwhelming. - Talal Itani (English)
69:6
وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ
69:6
And as for Aad; they were annihilated by a furious, roaring wind. - Talal Itani (English)
69:7
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَـٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ
69:7
He unleashed it upon them for seven nights and eight days, in succession. You could see the people tossed around, as though they were stumps of hollow palm-trees. - Talal Itani (English)
69:8
فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٍ
69:8
Can you see any remnant of them? - Talal Itani (English)
69:9
وَجَآءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُۥ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَـٰتُ بِٱلْخَاطِئَةِ
69:9
Then Pharaoh came, and those before him, and the Overturned Cities steeped in sin. - Talal Itani (English)
69:10
فَعَصَوْا۟ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً
69:10
But they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with an overpowering grip. - Talal Itani (English)
69:11
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلْمَآءُ حَمَلْنَـٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْجَارِيَةِ
69:11
When the waters overflowed, We carried you in the cruising ship. - Talal Itani (English)
69:12
لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٌ وَٰعِيَةٌ
69:12
To make it a lesson for you—so that retaining ears may retain it. - Talal Itani (English)
69:13
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
69:13
Then, when the Trumpet is sounded a single time. - Talal Itani (English)
69:14
وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَٰحِدَةً
69:14
And the earth and the mountains are lifted up, and crushed, with a single crush. - Talal Itani (English)
69:15
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ
69:15
On that Day, the Event will come to pass. - Talal Itani (English)
69:16
وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِىَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ
69:16
And the heaven will crack; so on that Day it will be frail. - Talal Itani (English)
69:17
وَٱلْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرْجَآئِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَـٰنِيَةٌ
69:17
And the angels will be ranged around its borders, while eight will be carrying the Throne of your Lord above them that Day. - Talal Itani (English)
69:18
يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ
69:18
On that Day you will be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. - Talal Itani (English)
69:19
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقْرَءُوا۟ كِتَـٰبِيَهْ
69:19
As for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say, “Here, take my book and read it. - Talal Itani (English)
69:20
إِنِّى ظَنَنتُ أَنِّى مُلَـٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ
69:20
I knew I would be held accountable.” - Talal Itani (English)
69:21
فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ
69:21
So he will be in pleasant living. - Talal Itani (English)
69:22
فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
69:22
In a lofty Garden. - Talal Itani (English)
69:23
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ
69:23
Its pickings are within reach. - Talal Itani (English)
69:24
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَآ أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَيَّامِ ٱلْخَالِيَةِ
69:24
“Eat and drink merrily for what you did in the days gone by.” - Talal Itani (English)
69:25
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَـٰبِيَهْ
69:25
But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he will say, “I wish I was never given my book. - Talal Itani (English)
69:26
وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ
69:26
And never knew what my account was. - Talal Itani (English)
69:27
يَـٰلَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلْقَاضِيَةَ
69:27
If only it was the end. - Talal Itani (English)
69:28
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّى مَالِيَهْ ۜ
69:28
My money cannot avail me. - Talal Itani (English)
69:29
هَلَكَ عَنِّى سُلْطَـٰنِيَهْ
69:29
My power has vanished from me.” - Talal Itani (English)
69:30
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
69:30
“Take him and shackle him. - Talal Itani (English)
69:31
ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
69:31
Then scorch him in the Blaze. - Talal Itani (English)
69:32
ثُمَّ فِى سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَٱسْلُكُوهُ
69:32
Then in a chain which length is seventy cubits tie him up. - Talal Itani (English)
69:33
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
69:33
For he would not believe in God the Great. - Talal Itani (English)
69:34
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ
69:34
Nor would he advocate the feeding of the destitute. - Talal Itani (English)
69:35
فَلَيْسَ لَهُ ٱلْيَوْمَ هَـٰهُنَا حَمِيمٌ
69:35
So he has no friend here today. - Talal Itani (English)
69:36
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ
69:36
And no food except scum. - Talal Itani (English)
69:37
لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَـٰطِـُٔونَ
69:37
Which only the sinners eat.” - Talal Itani (English)
69:38
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ
69:38
Indeed, I swear by what you see. - Talal Itani (English)
69:39
وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
69:39
And by what you do not see. - Talal Itani (English)
69:40
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
69:40
It is the speech of a noble messenger. - Talal Itani (English)
69:41
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ
69:41
And it is not the speech of a poet—little do you believe. - Talal Itani (English)
69:42
وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
69:42
Nor is it the speech of a soothsayer—little do you take heed. - Talal Itani (English)
69:43
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
69:43
It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. - Talal Itani (English)
69:44
وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ
69:44
Had he falsely attributed some statements to Us. - Talal Itani (English)
69:45
لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِٱلْيَمِينِ
69:45
We would have seized him by the right arm. - Talal Itani (English)
69:46
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ
69:46
Then slashed his lifeline. - Talal Itani (English)
69:47
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَـٰجِزِينَ
69:47
And none of you could have restrained Us from him. - Talal Itani (English)
69:48
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
69:48
Surely, it is a message for the righteous. - Talal Itani (English)
69:49
وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
69:49
And We know that some of you will reject it. - Talal Itani (English)
69:50
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
69:50
And it is surely a source of grief for the unbelievers. - Talal Itani (English)
69:51
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ
69:51
Yet it is the absolute truth. - Talal Itani (English)
69:52
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
69:52
So glorify the name of your Lord, the Magnificent. - Talal Itani (English)
