Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
75:1
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:1
I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:2
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
75:2
And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:3
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
75:3
Does man think We shall not put his bones together? - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:4
بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
75:4
Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
75:5
Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:6
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:6
He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
75:7
Yet when the eyes are dazzled, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
75:8
The moon eclipsed, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
75:9
And the sun and moon are conjoined, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:10
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
75:10
That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
75:11
Never so, for there will be no escape. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
75:12
With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:13
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
75:13
Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:14
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
75:14
In fact man is a witness against himself, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
75:15
Whatever the excuses he may offer. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
75:16
Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:17
Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:18
So, as We recite it, follow its reading. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
75:19
The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
75:20
But no. You love this transient life, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
75:21
And neglect the Hereafter. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:22
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
75:22
How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
75:23
Waiting for their Lord. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:24
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
75:24
And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
75:25
Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
75:26
Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ
75:27
And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
75:28
He will then realise it is the parting, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
75:29
And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
75:30
To your Lord then will be the driving. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
75:31
For he neither believed nor prayed, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:32
وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
75:32
But only disavowed and turned away; - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
75:33
Then he strutted back to his people. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
75:34
Alas the woe for you, alas! - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:35
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
75:35
Alas, the woe for you! - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:36
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
75:36
Does man think that he will be left alone to himself, free? - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
75:37
Was he not an emitted drop of semen, - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
75:38
Then formed into an embryo? Then He fashioned, shaped and proportioned - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
75:39
And assigned it sexes, male and female. - Ahmed Ali (English)
75:40
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
75:40
Cannot such as He bring the dead to life? - Ahmed Ali (English)
