Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
75:1
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:1
I swear by the Day of Resurrection! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:2
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
75:2
And I swear by the self-critical soul! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:3
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
75:3
Does man suppose that We will not put together his bones [at resurrection]? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:4
بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
75:4
Yes indeed, We are able to [re]shape [even] his fingertips! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
75:5
Indeed, man desires to go on living viciously. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:6
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:6
He asks, ‘When will be this “day of resurrection”?!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
75:7
But when the eyes are dazzled, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
75:8
the moon is eclipsed, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
75:9
and the sun and the moon are brought together, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:10
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
75:10
that day man will say, ‘Where is the escape [from this day]?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
75:11
No indeed! There will be no refuge! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
75:12
That day the [final] goal will be toward your Lord. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:13
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
75:13
That day man will be informed about what [works] he had sent ahead [to the scene of judgement] and [the legacy that he had] left behind. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:14
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
75:14
Indeed, man is a witness to himself, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
75:15
though he should offer excuses [to justify his failings]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
75:16
Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:17
Indeed it is up to Us to put it together and to recite it. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:18
And when We have recited it, follow its recitation. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
75:19
Then, its exposition [also] lies with Us. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
75:20
No! Indeed, you love this transitory life - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
75:21
and forsake the Hereafter. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:22
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
75:22
Some faces will be fresh on that day, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
75:23
looking to their Lord, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:24
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
75:24
and some faces will be scowling on that day, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
75:25
knowing that they will be dealt out a punishment breaking the spine. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
75:26
No indeed! When it reaches up to the collar bones - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ
75:27
and it is said, ‘Who will take him up?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
75:28
and he knows that it is the [time of] parting, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
75:29
and each shank clasps the other shank, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
75:30
that day he shall be driven toward your Lord. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
75:31
He neither confirmed [the messages of Allah], nor did he pray, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:32
وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
75:32
but denied [them] and turned away, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
75:33
and went back swaggering to his family. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
75:34
So, woe to you! Woe to you! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:35
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
75:35
Again, woe to you! Woe to you! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:36
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
75:36
Does man suppose that he has been abandoned to futility? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
75:37
Was he not a drop of emitted semen, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
75:38
and then a clinging mass? Whereat He created and proportioned [him], - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
75:39
and made of him the two sexes, male and female. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
75:40
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
75:40
Is not [someone like] that able to revive the dead? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
