بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
88:1
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَـٰشِيَةِ
88:1
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? - Saheeh International (English)
88:2
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَـٰشِعَةٌ
88:2
[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, - Saheeh International (English)
88:3
عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ
88:3
Working [hard] and exhausted. - Saheeh International (English)
88:4
تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً
88:4
They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. - Saheeh International (English)
88:5
تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ
88:5
They will be given drink from a boiling spring. - Saheeh International (English)
88:6
لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ
88:6
For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant - Saheeh International (English)
88:7
لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ
88:7
Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. - Saheeh International (English)
88:8
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ
88:8
[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. - Saheeh International (English)
88:9
لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ
88:9
With their effort [they are] satisfied - Saheeh International (English)
88:10
فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
88:10
In an elevated garden, - Saheeh International (English)
88:11
لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَـٰغِيَةً
88:11
Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. - Saheeh International (English)
88:12
فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ
88:12
Within it is a flowing spring. - Saheeh International (English)
88:13
فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوعَةٌ
88:13
Within it are couches raised high - Saheeh International (English)
88:14
وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ
88:14
And cups put in place - Saheeh International (English)
88:15
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ
88:15
And cushions lined up - Saheeh International (English)
88:16
وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ
88:16
And carpets spread around. - Saheeh International (English)
88:17
أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ
88:17
Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? - Saheeh International (English)
88:18
وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ
88:18
And at the sky - how it is raised? - Saheeh International (English)
88:19
وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ
88:19
And at the mountains - how they are erected? - Saheeh International (English)
88:20
وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ
88:20
And at the earth - how it is spread out? - Saheeh International (English)
88:21
فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ
88:21
So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. - Saheeh International (English)
88:22
لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ
88:22
You are not over them a controller. - Saheeh International (English)
88:23
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
88:23
However, he who turns away and disbelieves - - Saheeh International (English)
88:24
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ
88:24
Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. - Saheeh International (English)
88:25
إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ
88:25
Indeed, to Us is their return. - Saheeh International (English)
88:26
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم
88:26
Then indeed, upon Us is their account. - Saheeh International (English)
