Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
81:1
إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
81:1
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ
81:2
the stars are made to fade away, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
81:3
the mountains are scattered about as dust, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:4
وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
81:4
the young barren camels are abandoned, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:5
وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
81:5
the wild beasts are herded together, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:6
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
81:6
the oceans are brought to a boil, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:7
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
81:7
souls are reunited with their bodies, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:8
وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ

questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ
81:9
such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
81:10
the records of deeds are made public, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:11
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
81:11
the heavens are unveiled, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:12
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
81:12
hell is made to blaze, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:13
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
81:13
and Paradise is brought near, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:14
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ
81:14
then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
81:15
I do not need to swear by the orbiting - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
81:16
stars which are visible during the night - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
81:17
and sit during the day, or by the darkening night - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:18
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
81:18
and brightening morning, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:19
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
81:19
that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:20
ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
81:20
who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:21
مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
81:21
obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:22
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ
81:22
Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:23
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
81:23
He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:24
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
81:24
He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:25
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
81:25
The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
81:26
Where then will you go? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:27
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:27
This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
81:28
So let those who want, choose the right guidance - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
81:29
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:29
However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
