Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
55:1
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
55:1
AR-RAHMAN - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:2
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
55:2
Bestowed the Qur'an, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:3
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
55:3
Created man, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:4
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ
55:4
And taught him to express clearly. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:5
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
55:5
The sun and moon revolve to a computation; - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:6
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
55:6
And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:7
He raised the sky and set the Balance - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:8
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ
55:8
So that none may err against the scales, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:9
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:9
And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:10
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
55:10
He positioned the earth for all the creatures: - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:11
فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ
55:11
There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:12
وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ
55:12
Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:13
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:13
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:14
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ
55:14
He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:15
وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
55:15
And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:16
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:16
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:17
رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ
55:17
Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:18
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:18
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:19
مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
55:19
He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:20
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
55:20
With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:21
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:21
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:22
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
55:22
Out of them come pearls and coral. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:23
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:23
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:24
وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ
55:24
His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:25
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:25
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:26
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
55:26
All that is on the earth is passing, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:27
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:27
But abiding is the glory of your Lord, full of majesty and beneficence. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:28
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:28
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:29
يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍ
55:29
All those there are in the heavens and the earth turn to Him with solicitation, intent on His purpose all the time. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:30
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:30
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:31
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ
55:31
We shall soon be free to turn to you, O weary caravans, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:32
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:32
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:33
يَـٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ
55:33
O society of jinns and men, cross the bounds of the heavens and the earth if you have the ability, then pass beyond them; but you cannot unless you acquire the law. - Ahmed Ali (English)

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:34
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:35
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
55:35
Let loose at you will be smokeless flames of fire so that you will not be able to defend yourselves. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:36
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:36
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:37
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ
55:37
When the sky will split asunder, and turn rosy like the dregs of annointing oil, - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:38
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:38
Which of the favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:39
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:39
Neither man nor jinn will be questioned on that day about his sin. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:40
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:40
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:41
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ
55:41
The sinners will be recognised by their marks, and seized by the forelock and their feet. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:42
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:42
Which of the favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:43
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
55:43
This is Hell the sinners called a lie. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:44
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ
55:44
They will go round and around between it and boiling water. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:45
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:45
Which of the favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:46
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
55:46
But for him who lived in awe of the sublimity of his Lord, there will be two gardens -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:47
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:47
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:48
ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍ
55:48
Full of overhanging branches -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:49
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:49
Which of the favours of your Lord will you then deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:50
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
55:50
With two springs of water flowing through them both. -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:51
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:51
Which of the favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:52
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
55:52
In both of them there will be every kind of fruits in pairs. -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:53
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:53
Which of the favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:54
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
55:54
Reclining there on carpets lined with brocade, fruits of the garden hanging low within reach. - Ahmed Ali (English)

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:55
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:56
فِيهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:56
In them maidens with averted glances, undeflowered by man or by jinn before them, -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:57
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:57
Which of the favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:58
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
55:58
As though rubies and pearls. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:59
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:59
Which of the favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:60
هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ
55:60
Should the reward of goodness be aught else but goodness? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:61
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:61
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:62
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
55:62
And besides these two other gardens -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:63
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:63
Which of the favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:64
مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ
55:64
Of darkest verdant green -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:65
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:65
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:66
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
55:66
With two fountains gushing constantly, -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:67
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:67
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:68
فِيهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ
55:68
With fruits in them, and dates and pomegranates -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:69
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:69
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:70
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌ
55:70
In them good and comely maidens -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:71
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:71
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:72
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ
55:72
Houris cloistered in pavilions -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:73
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:73
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:74
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:74
Undeflowered by man or by jinn before them, -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:75
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:75
How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:76
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ
55:76
Reclining on green cushions and rich carpets excellent. - Ahmed Ali (English)
55:77
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:77
How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? - Ahmed Ali (English)

تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:78
Blessed be the name of your Lord, full of majesty and beneficience. - Ahmed Ali (English)
