بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
82:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ
82:1
When the sky is cleft asunder; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ
82:2
and when the stars are scattered; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
82:3
when the seas overflow; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:4
وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
82:4
and when the graves are laid open: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:5
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
82:5
then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
82:6
O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:7
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
82:7
who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:8
فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
82:8
in whatever form He pleased? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:9
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
82:9
Yet you deny the Last Judgement. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:10
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ
82:10
Surely, there are guardians watching over you, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:11
كِرَامًا كَـٰتِبِينَ
82:11
noble recorders, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:12
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
82:12
who know all that you do: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:13
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ
82:13
the virtuous will dwell in bliss, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:14
وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ
82:14
whereas the wicked will be in Hell; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:15
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
82:15
which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:16
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
82:16
and from which they will find no escape. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:17
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
82:17
What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:18
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
82:18
Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
82:19
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ
82:19
It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
