بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
82:1 إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ
82:1
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
When the sky is cleft asunder;
82:2 وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ
82:2
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
and when the stars are scattered;
82:3 وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
82:3
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
when the seas overflow;
82:4 وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
82:4

and when the graves are laid open:
82:5 عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
82:5

then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind.
82:6 يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
82:6
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer,
82:7 ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
82:7
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you,
82:8 فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
82:8
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
in whatever form He pleased?
82:9 كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
82:9
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Yet you deny the Last Judgement.
82:10 وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ
82:10
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Surely, there are guardians watching over you,
82:11 كِرَامًا كَـٰتِبِينَ
82:11

noble recorders,
82:12 يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
82:12
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
who know all that you do:
82:13 إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ
82:13
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
the virtuous will dwell in bliss,
82:14 وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ
82:14

whereas the wicked will be in Hell;
82:15 يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
82:15
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement,
82:16 وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ

and from which they will find no escape.
82:17 وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
82:17

What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be?
82:18 ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
82:18
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be?
82:19 يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ
82:19
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day.
