بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
82:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ
82:1
WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:2
وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ
82:2
And the stars dispersed, - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
82:3
When the oceans begin to flow, - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:4
وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
82:4
When the graves are overturned, - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:5
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
82:5
Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
82:6
O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:7
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
82:7
Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:8
فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
82:8
Shaping you into any form He pleased? - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:9
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
82:9
Even then you deny the Judgement. - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:10
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ
82:10
Surely there are guardians over you, - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:11
كِرَامًا كَـٰتِبِينَ
82:11
Illustrious scribes - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:12
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
82:12
Who know what you do. - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:13
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ
82:13
The pious will surely be in heaven, - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:14
وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ
82:14
The wicked certainly in Hell: - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:15
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
82:15
They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:16
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ
82:16
And will not be removed from it. - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:17
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
82:17
How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? - Ahmed Ali (English)

ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
82:18
How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? - Ahmed Ali (English)
82:19
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ
82:19
It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. - Ahmed Ali (English)
