79 An-Nāzi`āt ٱلنَّازِعَات

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

79:1 وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا
79:1
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies,

79:2 وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا
79:2
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers,

79:3 وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا
79:3
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God),

79:4 فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
79:4
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
by the angels who hasten along

79:5 فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
79:5
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected).

79:6 يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
79:6
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts

79:7 تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
79:7
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
and will be followed by the second one,

79:8 قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
79:8
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
hearts will undergo terrible trembling,

79:9 أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ
79:9

and eyes will be humbly cast down.

79:10 يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
79:10
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
(The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again

79:11 أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
79:11
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
after we have become bones and dust?"

79:12 قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
79:12
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss".

79:13 فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
79:13
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
However, it will only take a single blast

79:14 فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
79:14

to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface.

79:15 هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
79:15
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
(Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses

79:16 إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
79:16
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa,

79:17 ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
79:17
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds.

79:18 فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
79:18
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself?

79:19 وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
79:19
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him".

79:20 فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:20
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
Moses showed him the great miracle

79:21 فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
79:21
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses).

79:22 ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
79:22
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
Then he turned away in a hurry,

79:23 فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
79:23
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
and gathered his people together

79:24 فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
79:24
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
saying, "I am your supreme lord".

79:25 فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
79:25
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
So God struck him with the torment of this life and the life hereafter.

79:26 إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
79:26
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God.

79:27 ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا
79:27
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
(People), is your creation harder for God than that of the heavens, which He created, raised and established

79:28 رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
79:28
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
high above?

79:29 وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:29
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
He has made its nights dark and its days bright.

79:30 وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
79:30
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
After this, He spread out the earth,

79:31 أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
79:31
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
produced water and grass therefrom,

79:32 وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
79:32
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
then set-up firmly the mountains.

79:33 مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
79:33
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
All this was done as a means of enjoyment for you and your cattle.

79:34 فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:34
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
On the day when the great calamity comes,

79:35 يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
79:35
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
the human being will recall whatever he has done.

79:36 وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
79:36
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
Hell fire will become visible for those who would see it.

79:37 فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
79:37
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
Those who have rebelled

79:38 وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
79:38
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
and preferred the worldly life,

79:39 فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:39
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
hell will be their dwelling.

79:40 وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
79:40
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
However, those who had feared their Lord and restrained their souls from acting according to its desires.

79:41 فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:41
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
Paradise will be the dwelling.

79:42 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
79:42
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
(Muhammad), they ask you, "When will the Hour of Doom come?"

79:43 فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ

Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
(Muhammad), you do not know (when and how) it will come.

79:44 إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
79:44
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
This matter is in the hands of your Lord.

79:45 إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
79:45
Muhammad Sarwar (English) :
You are only a warner for those who fear such a day.

79:46 كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا

On the day when they see it, it will seem to them as though they had only lived in the world for a morning and an afternoon.
