بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
78:1
عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
78:1
What are they asking about - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:2
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
78:2
About the great news, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:3
ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ
78:3
About which they are in disagreement. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:4
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
78:4
Nay, they will come to know! - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:5
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
78:5
Nay, again, they will come to know! - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:6
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَـٰدًا
78:6
Have We not made the earth as a bed, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:7
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا
78:7
And the mountains as pegs - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:8
وَخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا
78:8
And We have created you in pairs. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:9
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا
78:9
And We have made your sleep as a thing for rest. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:10
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا
78:10
And We have made the night as a covering, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:11
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا
78:11
And We have made the day for livelihood. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:12
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا
78:12
And We have built above you seven strong, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:13
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا
78:13
And We have made (therein) a shining lamp. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:14
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًا
78:14
And We have sent down from the Mu`sirat water Thajjaj. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:15
لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا
78:15
That We may produce therewith grains and vegetations, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:16
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا
78:16
And gardens that are Alfaf. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:17
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَـٰتًا
78:17
Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:18
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا
78:18
The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:19
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًا
78:19
And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:20
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا
78:20
And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:21
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا
78:21
Truly, Hell is a place of ambush - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:22
لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًا
78:22
A dwelling place for the Taghun, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:23
لَّـٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًا
78:23
They will abide therein Ahqab. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:24
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا
78:24
Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:25
إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا
78:25
Except Hamim, and Ghassaq - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:26
جَزَآءً وِفَاقًا
78:26
An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:27
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا
78:27
For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:28
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا
78:28
But they denied Our Ayat Kidhdhaba. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:29
وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَـٰهُ كِتَـٰبًا
78:29
And all things We have recorded in a Book. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:30
فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
78:30
So taste you. No increase shall We give you, except in torment. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:31
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
78:31
Verily, for those who have Taqwa, there will be a success; - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:32
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَـٰبًا
78:32
Hada'iq and vineyards, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:33
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا
78:33
And Kawa`ib Atrab, - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:34
وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا
78:34
And a cup Dihaq. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:35
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا
78:35
No Laghw shall they hear therein, nor lying; - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:36
جَزَآءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا
78:36
Rewarded from your Lord with a sufficient gift. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:37
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا
78:37
The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatsoever is in between them, the Most Gracious, with Whom th- ey cannot dare to speak. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:38
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا
78:38
The Day that Ar-Ruh and the angels will stand forth in rows, they will not speak except him whom Ar-Rahman allows, and he will speak what is right. - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:39
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا
78:39
That is the True Day. So, whosoever wills, let him seek a place with His Lord! - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
78:40
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَـٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا
78:40
Verily, We have warned you of a near torment -- the Day when man will see that which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!" - Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (English)
