بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

96:1 ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ
96:1 Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created - - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:2 خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
96:2 Hath created man from a clot! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:3 ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ
96:3 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:4 ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ
96:4 Who hath taught mankind by the pen - - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:5 عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ
96:5 Hath taught man that which he knew not. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:6 كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ
96:6 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:7 أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ
96:7 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:8 إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ
96:8 Verily Unto thy Lord is the return. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:9 أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ
96:9 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:10 عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ
96:10 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth * - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:11 أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ
96:11 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:12 أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ
96:12 Or he commandeth piety? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:13 أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ
96:13 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:14 أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ
96:14 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:15 كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ
96:15 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock - - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:16 نَاصِيَةٍ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ
96:16 A forelock, lying, sinning. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:17 فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ
96:17 Then, let him call his assembly, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:18 سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ
96:18 We also shall call the infernal guards. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

96:19 كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩
96:19 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
